Do we not have someone else?
Guy gets beat every play. Never turns his head around, and on plays today just seemed to give up on even trying to make a play.
This has been going on since the UNC game yet there he is, play after play, getting destroyed downfield.

We seem so t be thin at several positions. Don't want to point fingers.

Agreed, just curious.
Not really placing blame, just an observation on the secondary and how bad it is.
Don't understand how he could be the best at the position with such poor form and execution.

Deandre Baker subbed in today. Gave up some passes underneath, which is still an improvement from Briscoe allowing big play after big play.
I'm still wondering... where the frick are McGraw and Wilkerson? Two guys who played quite a bit defensively last year are MIA.

I heard he grew up idolizing Bryan Evans.

McGraw is coming back from an injury. Or so thought.

I think Wilkerson got hurt last week.

This isn't possible. We recruit as well as anyone.

That long TD he gave up was just pathetic. He had PI called against him, and then literally just stopped and watched him catch the ball.

Hell yeah...top 10 classes almost every year. The problem is that we may well be #5 in the nation but we are #4 in the conference and may well be the third best class in the SEC East.....at the flagship institution in one of the most fertile CFB recruiting grounds in the nation. The question is why? And the answer is because football just ain't that important at UGA. From a university standpoint that is admirable....as a fan it sucks. We simply don't feel that winning is all that important....its nice and if we get to the point where we lose more than we don't we would change whatever was necessary but as a program a SEC title every 20 years or so is good enough. There is no more perfect example of that than Mark Richt sticking around way longer than he was interested in doing and the fact that so many fans of the dawgs still lament that he left when he did.
This is why I am a Bulldog fan. As a kid Vince Dooley teams won a lot of games they had no business being in....we weren't a dominant program and didn't win national titles every year....in fact only won one...the only real one we have ever won...but we were a team that even the dominant power houses didn't want to play because they had better be on their toes or they would get beat. We haven't been that team in 30 years. probably wasn't that team prior to Dooley either. We are a second tier program period and there is no commitment or reason to change that ever.
If Kirby Smart doesn't win the SEC East in 2017 he should be allowed to seek opportunities elsewhere. He won't be...he will be given 5-6 seasons. I think he will win the SEC East by his third season....I think he is a good fit for UGA....He most likely won't embarass the university and with our weak assed schedule he will win 8-10 games a year and will get some love in the pre-season by the pundits for being a contender in the SEC....and that is all we can hope for. Some will say we had that with Mark Richt but it was fading and fading fast....as our talent level this season indicates. Smart will feel a need to work like hell recruiting....Richt would have continued to be in the top 10 nationally and the top 8 in the conference....

But I agree, he was getting beat all day and all year. Even when he would run up for the tackle, he would just sit back and wait for them. It was like he didn't want to get ran over.

Not only does Briscoe get torched, he doesn’t like contact. It’s almost painful to watch. He is making Bryan Evans and Prince Miller look like all-americans. I’ve never seen a player so bad. I’d rather see Ham at CB, outcome would probably be the same.
I saw that Deandre Baker came in, but he was subbing for Parrish. Kirby needs to recognize that Briscoe is a liability and we should take our chances with McGhee or Hardman. If we’re going to take some bruises, let the youth gain some experience. Very frustrating

He seems like he has gotten a lot worse than last year when he played on the top defensive backfield in D1.

Same stuff we saw back in January...

I felt like he was at least serviceable last year.
We really haven't lost that much (Jonathan Abram) from the secondary, but are considerably worse. I know our pass rush without Floyd and Jenkins is worse, but man this has been hard to watch.

Kirby wasn"t lying when he said the secondary was being protected by Pruitt's playcalling I dont think we truely saw how bad it really was until now, and the lack of a pass rush is definitely getting them exposed.

So, it is defensive play calling that is hurting us ?
