Yes. 70% completion percentage is elite for a QB. 70% catch rate for a wideout is bad, very bad.
Did you consider JJ's game against Georgia last year elite or SW's game last week elite?
Obviously you're done talking about the redzone. Because I don't even know if he completed a pass in the redzone. We still didn't score a TD tonight.

How many times did Nick overthrow Sammie? And everybody just creams over his deep ball, and for good reason, he was very good at it. But it's a high risk high reward throw, nobody's gonna complete all of them.
Nobody ever creamed over Marshall's throwing ability. He cost us the NC and a lot of games in 2014 with his inaccuracy. He was a beast running the ball though.

Come on jang, man. Don't be stupid.
JJ's game against UGa last year was pretty much all swing passes and WR screens. You know that.

I do know that. Just saying that completion percentages can be misleading. A fair summary of SW's play is he played with moxy, he led his team, but the passing offense is still a liability in the redzone.

I remember a td pass slipping through Tony Stevens hands and a bunch of runs up the middle and some KJ wildcat. Sean did what he could. And that was not meant to be interpreted as Sean is elite, those were just static numbers I was comparing against each other to show how heinous your argument was.

I remember it different.

Yeah, because every time he gets a chance in the redzone, Gus has managed to make it an OBVIOUS passing situation.
You don't see that either?
I don't care what you think about the LSU team, their defense is pretty stout and they have good DBs. Simple as hell to pass against that in the red zone when they know its coming, right?

This is on the offensive line and Gus/Rhett and you know it.
I don't understand why we are in the wildcat at the goal line. It screams "Run!!!". I have to wonder if there is more to it than just play calling. Having SW in the game would've at least kept the defense honest. But yet Gus still thinks the one dimensional play will yield better results. And why is SW always rolling right in the redzone? Is it because he cannot see over the line?

No idea man, height is an antiquated argument though. Drew Brees and Russell Wilson have both won Super Bowls at his height if not even shorter.

As much as I'd like to attribute our red zone woes to their defense, we have sucked in the redzone for two years now. I know SW is our QB but we have to figure out ways to get him the ball and make him effective when the field is condensed. I don't know that rolling right is the trick.

You are 100% correct here.
Watching the replay on that play, LSU had every running option ready and covered.
Gosh, its almost as if they saw it on film and studied it and were ready for it.

This is what it all boils down to and we know it. Gus's O is too simple, from everything from his route trees, to the blocking schemes, to the limited number of plays. You take the artificial complexity of the RPOs away and it's an uber talented high school offense. But it wasn't always that way. All those plays used to be masked in misdirection and shifts back in the Chris Todd and Tulsa days. It's just too easy for defenses to gameplan against nowadays and until Gus changes that they're gonna continue to run into brick walls every play. It really could look worse if we didn't have athletes like Kerryon, Kyle Davis, and Kam Pettway making it look good every now and then.

You are retarded.

The fact we don't have a TE is glaring when we get in the red zone.

Yep, no Uzomah big boying corners in the end zone and no Lutz wide open on the flat route.

Art Briles on the coaching staff would be huge for Gus imo, if he's willing to listen and adjust, and after his press conference Tuesday I think he's ready to change something.

Moot point honestly. He looks like the best we have. So here we are.
