We've played Florida 5 times over that period in the regular season too (2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2014) and Georgia 3 times (2007, 2008, 2015). South Carolina 3 times (2005, 2009, 2010, also 2004). We've only played Vandy 3 times since 2003 (2006, 2007, 2011).

2 opponents out of 5 prior to the 2012 expansion.
Reset in 2012, 1 opponent out of 6 since.
This is not some astronomically rare occurrence. Geez, turn in the tin foil hat.

The flip side is that we've played Vandy once in that time frame. 9 years, not 8.
