I really don't believe the RB position has enough value for it to even be an argument. It is simply a position that has been devalued so much in modern football that you can't compare it to the impact of possibly the 2nd most important position in football. Enjoy the game!
Man you are retarded. This is Auburn, not Gus coaching at Tulsa. You do realize that Auburn has had 10 1,000 yard rushers since 2009. Without the running game no NC in 2010 and sure as hell no SECC in 2013. Our entire offense is predicated on the run!!

The fact that you used the word retarded in an attempt to slander me says all I need to know.
Ironically, your post, quoted above, is proof that the position is devalued. You can literally put anyone in that position and get similar production. When Carl missed last year or 2014, how did the Dline produce? The opposing O accounts for Carl on every play.
Devalued doesn't mean RB isn't important. It means the guy playing it isn't really that important so long as you have someone to play the position.

This isn't the NFL... the RB position is as important as ever at the college level.
Losing Lawson hurt so much in 14 bc there was no viable backup... that's not the case this year.
Last night was a great example of what KJ can mean for this offense... He has the talent to take a five yard gain to the house.

Dude, Gus has had a 1000 yard rusher forever. Do you really believe when coaches game planned us in 2013 they worried about Tre more than NM or worried about CAP at all in 2014. Do you believe any DC thought man I am concerned about Dyer in 2010?
KJ showed some special things last night, but it still doesn't mean you pretty much couldn't put anyone in that slot and get similar production. Gus has proven that. I don't have to argue it.

Dude... What part of "we lost three RBs this offseason" do you not get? KJ goes down and we have nothing there but a converted fullback and a couple not-ready-for-primetime true freshmen.
Any other year I'd agree with you... But the OP referenced THIS team.
You're just flat wrong on this.
