It is interesting to look at the Preseason Rankings and compare to on field performance. You would assume the higher ranked team should win, if the asshats in the media actually know things. I'm just using the USA Today ranking we have in tRant news.
LINK
My take.
1. Alabama hammers 34. USCw on a neutral field. Impressive win that most football fans liked. Most folks across the country hate USC more than Bama.IMO
7. LSU loses a close one to 27. Wisconsin in what was essentially a road game. That one really hurt. But, there are many games to be played.
12. Tennessee beats 43. Appalachian State in OT at home. The Vols got lucky, but they beat a pretty good team.
15. Ole Miss vs. 2. Florida State. If Ole Miss wins, they jump into the Top 10, as they should. If they lose a close one, they will probably not move much.
23. Florida beats 127. U Mass at home. This win and the way it went down, probably won't help the Gator's ranking.
24. Georgia wins comfortably over 22. North Carolina. This was essentially a home game for the Dawgs. But, they looked good.
29. Auburn loses a surprisingly close game to 5. Clemson at home. The Cheetah's defense looks strong. I think they should have won this game. Good showing.
40. Arkansas edges 33. LA Tech at home. LA Tech was actually ranked above the Hogs and I see why. Their starting 22 is pretty good. And, they are very well coached. Just glad for the W.
46. Texas A&M beats 4. UCLA at home. Not sure why they have UCLA ranked at 4, but this win for the Saggies is probably the biggest win for SEC teams.
55. Mississippi State loses to 106. South Alabama. That was a tough loss and is probably the worst for SEC teams.
74. Kentucky loses to 45. Southern Mississippi at home. Southern Miss is simply a better team.
79. Vanderbilt lose to 84. South Carolina at home. This game was a toss-up. Vandy should have won at home.
87. Missouri loses to 56. WVU on the road. They expected to lose, and did.

Seriously, you can't be Shirley, right? Bama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and possibly Texas are in a league of their own as far as hate in the general population of CFB fans.

All the reasoning and shite for Arkansas and then brilliant insight to Vandy/South Carolina

When analysts and writers talk about these games, do they ever look at the spreads?
Talking heads picked Clemson in a blowout, the game is close, and they're surprised. Well hell, the line sat at Clem -7 for a bit. There was a damn good chance the game would be close.
I thought Clemson would win. And I wouldn't have been surprised if they won comfortably. But, how the hell can someone be surprised after looking at the spread? Hell it got crushed every time it got to +8.

This whole thread was clearly desigend to try and convince us that Arkansas' come from behind win at home vs La Tech was a good win.

My bad. I should have pointed out the Game Hen win over Vandy was the biggest win in the SEC. It does put you in first in the SEC East.

the point wasn't even close to that. it was a pretty objective view of the games. you are butt hurt over his Vandy comment. it's true. they was up and choked that shite away in the end.

USCw is actually 34th in the poll you linked, one spot below La Tech...
