Eric Reid joins Kap in protest of the "oppression the flag stands for"
Was he a political activist on campus, too, or is this sort of activism new for Reid?
(side note: his pick against Bama in 2011 may well have been the play of that game)

It's pathetic and shameful.

That proves it. LSU is anti-American.

I'll say what I said on the TR. faux patriotism is hysterical. Folks consistently trash America, its president, the nominees, foreign affairs, government, etc
But as soon as someone protests in a non violent way mind you, it's this huge deal. I may not agree with Reid in the slightest, but it's his right to call attention to something he feels is important. That's America and that's his right. I've no issue with it.

What gets me is Reid trying to hide behind other players while doing it. Man up dude!
Goodell- get control of your league, it's embarrassing.

I think Goodell has bigger things to stress over than 2 players protesting the national anthem.

Well said. This is how I feel about this whole ordeal. I don't agree with their stance, but I do respect the way they went about it.
That is, until Kaepernick wore those stupid socks. He's now lost all credibility, IMO.

Proves nothing about LSU. Speaks only to Eric Reid. I was just curious if this has been his M.O. in the past or if it surprised LSU fans.
I agree with his right to protest, but I disagree with how Kaepernick has framed that protest around "oppression that the flag stands for". That's NOT what it stands for. Oppression does exist, but to frame the conversation that oppression is solely a race thing is inaccurate.

Nah, by all means, that's within.their right as well. I just find it funny. If they were protesting over, say, Hillary becoming president, they'd be praised. Faux patriotism.

So you'd be OK with him protesting with the Westboro Baptist Church members at the funeral of soldiers KIA in 49'er jersey AND him holding a sign stating that God hates figs?

First, Louisiana elects a Democrat governor... Now this?
Louisiana hates America
Louisiana hates America
