What's the deal with Trevor Knight?

I am sure this will go over well 
but...I can't figure out the hype surrounding Knight. I would expect something closer to cautious optimism but people are talking about him like he is guaranteed to be successful in the Aggies' system. Looking at his stats in 2015 against Big 12 defenses, I don't see how anyone can automatically draw that conclusion. And it isn't just posters here I am talking about...The national media is all over this too.
Did he have an outstanding Spring or something?

the only hype for him is from delusional A&M posters. He is not very good, as has been shown by his play since his freshman year.

He had a big game against Bama, but his career stats are on par or worse than Brandon Harris' year last season which everyone seems to make fun of

I see most A&M fans being cautious optimistic but if you have a good arm then you are going to put up numbers in A&M's system.
