I watching from afar now. It just seems that way to me now. The Birmigham metro as a whole doesn't produce talent like it once did.

Meh, Hoover hasn't been the bellcow in alabama for a while. They THINK they are and even tonight the news asked why Hoover played these games. In birmingham they aren't even the top team anymore. Leeds has taken that mantle. Opelika, st. Paul's , Prattville are better programs in the state.
Texas state football better? depends on who u play. A 5k student school is gonna be better. Hoover lost to John Curtis, which is a recruiting private school that by the way, won the la state championship that year as well beating all those great la teams you speak of.
Having similar schools, similar enrolment, public play public, private play private, Bama high schools play with anybody. This whole argument is a myth. La is the private school capital of america. The only teams we ever see are the John Curtis' s. Plenty of public school la teams would get housed if they played Alabama's best public teams.

Doesn't seem that way to me. Two of the best offensive rookies in the NFL last year were from the Birmingham metro, Jameis Winston-Hueytown, Ameer Abdulah- Homewood.
Bama recruits nationally but two of yalls best freshmen on defense last year were from the Birmingham metro, Marlon Humphrey- Hoover, Daron Payne, Shades Valley.
I think other populated areas of the state are catching up in quality of the programs and development of players, but at the end of the day 1/3 of the population of Alabama still lives in the Birmingham metro.

I base it on where Alabama's talent in-state is starting to come from. It's not Birmingam.
Huntsville will also be the largest city by 2030.

You realize they won state in 2012,2013, and 2014?

Why would a HS not want to play a national game on ESPN? Hoover basically pioneered these types of games when they became the first HS to have a game televised live on ESPN in 2005 vs Nease(FL) who had Tebow.
These games are meaningless when it comes to the tone of the season. Hoover won 3 games against out of state teams last year and didn't even make state. In 2014 Hoover started off 0-2 against out of state teams and then won their third straight state championship.

GTFO
Leeds is 4A. They couldn't hang with a good 7A teams 2nd string. They couldn't even hang with mediocre 6A teams like Chelsea.
Prattville has been awful for a few years now. Like multiple losing records bad.
You know nothing and you're out of touch. It's always amusing to see people's irrational hatred of Hoover and to see how far they'll reach in a pathetic attempt to try and talk Hoover down a peg.

City. Not metro. Not even close. I keep seeing that thrown around and it's a very misleading statement. Assuming that projection even comes true.
City of Huntsville: 190,000
Huntsville metro: 440,000
City of Birmingham: 212,000
Birmingham metro: 1,145,000

Somebody should tell them this interesting stat AL.com just posted:
-- Hoover is 9-4 when playing teams from outside Alabama under Josh Niblett, but 4-2 when the Bucs play out-of state

Hewitt Trussville hired a guy from Arkansas named Josh Floyd I think. Dude tore up Arkansas state football and won a few state championships. Hope he does the same with the Huskies. Otherwise the administration wasted 150,000 upfront dollars.

The dumbass was trying to talk shite about Hoover and saying they shouldn't even play out of state games since Hoover lost tonight, but AL.com pointed out that Hoover actually has a very good record in those types of games.
Posted on 8/27/16 at 2:06 am to BowlJackson
I might be questioning where Hoover stands now, but they're still an elite program.

Hewitt-Trussville beat Manatee (FL) tonight 78-56
Hoover beat the same team last year 42-21
78 points is impressive though. I know they've got at least a couple FBS recruits on offense.

Truth. The misleading Huntsville overtaking Birmingham in size was bad enough, but he lost all credibility with the Leeds being the best team in the Birmiingham metro nugget.

I stated Huntsville is outgrowing Birmigham proper. Because its true. I don't claim the Leeds shite.

He didn't just say in the Birmingham area, he said they were the "bell cow" of the whole state
