I am by no means a Finebaum fan, I detest him, primarily for being a bama/saban pimp but too, for being a general shite stirrer to crank up his ratings. But he had a former college coach on while at the SEC league meetings last spring & this former coach, self proclaimed to still be in the loop of conference goings on, said that what he was hearing in talking around the league is that the Mississippi media as a whole was completely backing the Black Bears, to the detriment of their fans. His point being their fans are being sold a bill of goods by the local media & are buying their message. To the extent they will be blindsided when the shite does come down.. One coach's opinion on Finebaum's show so do consider the source/s. That this guy is a Black Bears' beat writer seems to follow what this coach was saying. He's spreading the company line.

A lot of the Alabama media did the same back in 2000. It drives revenue because fans want sunshine pumped up their arse.
This thing probably isn't as serious as rival fans make it out to be, nor as innocent as Ole Miss make it out to be.

I didn't read the article and barley read any Mississippi media. My point came from reading the SI article and the Yahoo article. In the SI article it covers all the accusations Miller made but only 3 went in the NOA because those were the ones proven. 11 nights free stay, $800 and rental car.

Well, this article might be an attempt to spin that before it happens. Its basic message is that Ole Miss isn't really guilty of anything, but the NCAA is going to railroad them anyway.
Oh, and the "absolute respect and deference" thing regarding Ole Miss' approach to the NCAA was amazing. It's proof that people can literally delude themselves enough to believe anything.

This is what I've been saying on this board forever. The media in Mississippi (especially the Clarion Ledger) have gone out of their way to spin everything about the Ncaa investigation. Ole Miss fans are still so stupidly brainwashed that they believe the sanctions will be small and that there is no second letter coming.
I know for a fact that the Ncaa has found far more damaging garbage on Ole Miss since their first letter and they are STILL INVESTIGATING right now as I said 2 weeks ago. Ole Miss fans have a mental defect but it's their arrogance that will bring them down. Ho hum, their own University can lie to them and they like it. Thank you sir may I have another!!
