Me and my wife are planning kids. Would love to have twin girls. I think it would be a blast. Any parents care to share experiences?

Yep. B/G twins. 18 mos now. Born Jan 2015. Also, a 4.5 yr old. It's the best most difficult thing you'll ever do. You join an elite group of parents in the world when you've raised multiples. No one will have a clue how difficult and awesome it is - all at the same time.
Some parents have said, 'oh, i know what you mean. we have 2 kids under 3 right now. It's crazy!!' Me, 'uh, yeah, that aint shite, lady.' Twins are different, as you'll see.
Prepare to be a mini celebrity. Strangers will gawk. You will not be able to go to the store w/o being stopped 5xs. "OMG, are they TWINS?!?!??" You, "Yes, they are."
The standard line from everyone in the free world, "Wow, you guys sure have your hands full." You, "Yes, we do. It's great, though." Then they smile at you like 'yeah, right mf'er.'
But they don't know wtf they're talking about.
Make sure your marriage is in tact. You will be tested.
Prepare to get your hands dirty (literally). You will be critical to the cause. There's no way around it - if you want to stay happily married, that is.
You won't be doing much traveling as a family for while after the twins come. The logistics are too much. We load the suburban down like we're going to the beach for a week for simply a weekend at the grandparents. Not worth it. Let folks come to you. In other words, travel before she gets too pregnant and then clear your fckn schedule for a while.
And when they do, don't be afraid to ask for help. When people say 'let me know what i can do' write that shite down. And when you need someone to run to the store for you, hit em up. And also make it clear to family especially, that if they're wanting to come over and "hold the babies" for a while, please come prepared to help out with a load of laundry or maybe unload the dishwasher, or perhaps make bottles (we'd go through about 16-20 bottles/day before switching to real food).
Hope you aren't in any financial stress. This is going to be expensive. My wife and i both work, our childcare for 3 is about $4k/month. Twins go thru diapers like shte thru a goose. At the worst, they'll run through about 20-25 diapers a day....each. Diapers are about 50-75c apiece depending on the brand. Do the math on a year of that. Formula - don't even get me started. We'd go thru a $35 box of formula every 2.5 days.
Sign up for Amazon Prime and get all that kind of stuff shipped. But before she gets too pregnant you should go to Sam's and stock up on as many diapers, wipes, etc. as you can fit in your house.
Have a twin sex reveal party or a baby shower and have everyone bring a box of diapers in lieu of some bullshite they're never use with their initials monogrammed on it. You'll need a few of those, but you'll need many, many, many diapers.
You don't need 2 of everything. You need 2 of some things. The big jumpers and space consuming toys, etc. You don't need 2 of those.
I can't tell you how great this is about to be - you wouldn't believe me. But not gonna lie, it's hard as hell and has given us moments of anxiety and stress that i can't fully describe. But enjoy the journey. Mine are 18 mos now. It's been a blur. They grow up fast. They literally were holding hands when after being born we set them in the warmer and they reached out for one another. They speak a different language than any other 2 people in the world. They have a bond that we don't understand and never will. It's amazing to watch them.
Prepare yourself for the chaos. It'll be the best thing that ever happened to you.

I'm not joking when I say I think this is the greatest/realest post I've ever read on here. Props

Our oldest two are 13 months apart. So two in diapers when they were little. We used to put them in a double stroller and we'd get the same "are they twins?" comments...even though they were clearly differently sized.
One dumbass woman asked my wife how far apart they were. I chimed in... "9 months and 20 minutes"... :)

it really depends on the specific diaper, some varieties and sizes are more. But yeah, you should be less than .30. We use cloth during the day and disposables at night and they are .22 each/size 3, the 1's and 2's were cheaper

We were in the almost same boat. Our son was under 3 yrs old when twins were born.
Maybe i was off on that price of the diapers. I just pay the AmEx, i don't shop for the stuff. As far as the number/day - at it worst it was about a change every 30 minutes. Premie babies are different. Every little squirt of poop or pee would be a change.
I had a great pic once of one of their diapers next to my iphone 5s. My phone was wider than the diaper. Crazy how little they are. Full term for twins is 36 wks vs. 40 for a singleton baby. So already they're going to be smaller and have different issues to deal with than normal.

HogLeg pretty much summed it all up.
We've got 4 kids. The oldest is 4, then a 2 1/2 yr old, and the twins are almost 10 months old. We aren't able to get out much, but we're the main attraction when we do. It's amazing the connection the twins have.

A friend of mine had La.'s first quints...and then in less than a yr had an "oops" baby. 6 under the age of 1. Trips to the grocery store were unbelievable, as I made one with her/them & it took 3 baskets full to complete a two wks worth shopping trip.

B/G twins, 13 years old and Hog pretty much nailed it, especially about how much "You" will need to help. We had a great pediatrician and nurse who hooked us up with tons of free formula, so don't be afraid to ask.
