Au is a wildcard for the SECW this year.

Based on last year no one would consider them a legitimate threat to win the SECW. However, with the addition of the JUCO QB, Franklin, their offense should be more similar to the 2013-2014 version with Nick Marshal than the 2015 version.
I expect them to be much improved in the running game and will probably lead the league in rushing. They have 2 very good SEC Rbs and with a QB that can run that offense is tough to stop.
The schedule isn't very friendly, but when has it ever been.
Game 1 vs Clemson will be a good indicator, I think they hang tough and have a shot to win.
The big early season game vs LSU can propel them to a much better than expected season. IMO they pull the upset and beat LSu. The next pivotal game would be Ark at home. Winnable game and will be favored if they're 5-1 which would set up a top 20 match up vs Ole Miss (1 loss-Bama )
Don't think they win at Ole Miss, @UGA nor @Bama . But they could pull of another upset, UGA is the most likely and might not be an upset by then. I've got them 8-4 to 10-2 with some luck.

Craig was the mastermind behind Nick. He won't be there to help Franklin

Biggest thing for me is there is no damn way they beat Clemson.

Craig was solely responsible for WR, which was second to the QB as the biggest problem last year.

They'll lose at least 4 games.

Anyone that is writing AU off is bias and just being obtuse.
The keys will be if they can get good QB production and the OL especially at Tackles.
If that happens they can beat any team in the country.
The problem is those are big IFs.
But they are my dark horse team in the West.
They have more talent on offense than we do at Florida and their defense is poised to make a statement with all the talent and depth they have there.
The thing that intrigues me the list is how many teams really look good in the SEC. Obviously the West is loaded and the East has taken some big steps forward.
Should be an exciting year in the SEC.

At least y'all fixed the issue on defense with the co-hiring

So what studs does AU have at OT?

As much as I would love to agree, I can't. Auburn will be mediocre at best in 2016.

What, that they will get rag dolled again by Fournette?

A&M is a much better bet for wildcard. They have a 5th year senior at QB and their backup is a Junior too. This is the first time A&M has had upper classmen at QB since joining the league.
They will also be deeper talent on both offense and defense. They have much better coaching too, especially on offense. UCLA is a much easier out than Clemson and UT at home will be much easier than UGA too.

The talent level seems to be way down, the offense is getting stale, and their QB issues make LSU look like a passing paradise.
So they probably win the SECW this year.
When Auburn goes into the season looking good they are terrible. When they go into the season looking like something you scrape off your shoe they compete for a national title.

AU proved three years ago that they only need to be average on Defense if the Offense is working. By the end of last year they were average. I think Steele can live up to those standards.

The WR coach was the mastermind behind the QB?
Yeah, he was the mastermind alright. Behind us losing 3+ games due to so many dropped passes last year. Have fun with him

You're right. I predict them to beat UGA and Bama
