He righted the ship and closed the season out strongly though. Glad somebody can have a rational conversation here.
The other hog poster was right when I was referencing the fan base as a whole not this forum. A majority of all fan bases overreact during the season to certain moments.

We are talking about 2015, not 2013. Try to keep up.
There were a lot of threads about firing him after the OOC losses last year.

I doubt many were predicting a loss to Toledo.
ah didn't realize. then you would be kinda correct, last season there were a few fans here jumping off the bert bandwagon, but not many
Are you on or off the Bert bandwagon?

Go back to mid-September on your board. There's a wealth of threads started about how bad he was, including one that was an official coaching search with a lot of your more 'vocal' fans supporting.
You will find the same thing on our board as well.

not denying several of our fans including myself were displeased with bert last season
but to say a lot of them were off the bert bandwagon is false

I didn't see the point in giving up on him after 4 games in the season. It wasn't going to solve anything. I think most were extremely disappointed but were holding ultimate judgment until the season was over. Still upsetting to thing about those early games we could have won but team improved which mattered more to me at the end of the season. I think that is one of the best signs of good coaching.

Are you retarded? Did Arkansas beat your overhyped team two years in a roll?
LSU fan you need to worry about whats on your own plate. Mess Lyles may get fired
if he don't win the Sec with all your overhyped Coaches. We have a good chance to beat you again this year, got the chocolate and chicken soup ready! Bret will have good players all over the field , HIS recruits play very physical and smart. Yes, we have some holes to fill......but we will fill them.

Just more to come Tiger! Arkansas is not afraid of LSU, I think it shows.

You do understand that in Gus Malzahns first year at Auburn he did more than Arkansas has been able to do in 26 YEARS
So did Larry Coker. I wonder why his phone isn't ringing off the hook. I'd be worried too if I had a coach that fell arse backwards into a talented team and has progressively gotten worse.

I'm kind of averagely ok with Bielema. I no longer care enough to get genuinely upset or whatever it is I'm supposed to do.
I think a losing season and he's definitely on the hot seat.

You sure have been quick to jump on Arkansas fans on here lately...did a hog fan pork your wife or something?

You mean, you're a well adjusted adult fan of a college football team?

Bert's had to rebuild the program from day 1. What he's done from changing the culture of the program, to improvements in academics, to taking fewer risks with "troubled" student athletes was much needed after the Petrino/JLS era.
I feel he's building it the right way, which naturally takes some time. We'll see how this year goes. Looks like we'll have a good D. It all hinges on how fast the new O-line gels and how AA reacts when the bullets are flying.
For a new starting QB in the SEC, at least he gets Bama, LSU, OM, and UF at home.

I like him. I truly believe we need to keep him around for a long time to build stability and consistency.

After y'all beat Texas in the 2014 bowl. A lot of pig fans picked Arkansas to win the west.

Wut?
I think you were sailed on. Beating a shitty Texas team didn't warrant winning the west. Now, we may have taken liberties with your women (we did - wink) but show me anyone who seriously thought we'd win the west anytime soon.

I don't think that we as a program are prepared to do what it takes in recruiting to win consistently in the SEC. So we take Bert, give him some time to slowly rebuild the program his way, and hope for the best.
The think his ceiling at Arkansas is about 10 wins. At LSU, with their level of talent, I think Bert could win a Natty.

I wish we got off to a better start last year, but we were breaking in a new OC so i'll give it a pass considering the circumstances. I don't ever judge a coach til year 3 anyway. We've improved and we aren't putting off the sleazy vibes that so many programs do these days.
It's entertaining football to watch, and our coach seems genuine. that's about all we can ask for.
We are a very unique program. We will never have top 20 recruiting classes or rake in the high profile skill players. Just be competitive and hope once every 10 years or so you can make a run at it late in the season.
