Business Opportunity.

When I travel I85S to I285E, like a sane person, I merge right starting at the 2 mile sign. Sure, it's slower, it's more congested, but I'm putting myself in position to calmly ease from an 80 mph moving parking lot, to the inevitable 0mph parking lot.

I'm exiting, I'm going 45 mph. Every time there is an a-hole who flies up, 100 feet from the ramp who crosses over two or three lanes to my left, turns on his blinker and cuts in. I've seen them snubbed, forced onto the emergency lane, where they turn on their emergency blinkers and...start backing up.

My proposal.

There has to be more excitement here then at most Nascar tracks. Put some bleachers on the west side, sell smoked turkey legs.

Now you're talking.

No signs until 100 yds to on ramp.

That reminded me. I was going to Roswell to visit some friends on a weekend night and on 285 noticed a string of police lights pulling out just past 85. They fanned out and essential stopped all traffic to a slow roll. They also had cops blocking on ramps....it was a pretty big production. I was in about the 3rd row. Not quite poll but still pretty good.

We slowly rolled a few miles until we saw what the deal was. They had pulled several bucket trucks out and we're painting or repairing a bridge/sign that required no traffic. They had us going about 7 mph for what felt like an hour. They were wrapping up as we approached and the trucks pulled off and the cop cars pulled over....leaving a wide open 285 in front of us.

I've never raced NASCAR but that was as close to a rolling start at Daytona as I'll ever see. Those in the front of that group will always remember that....I promise you ...
