A possible blow to the RB corps, but he seems like he was always more interested in baseball.
Sheer numbers wise though, 5 scholarship backs now (when Ross and Crockett get here)
I believe that leaves BO with 3 scholarships if he still wants to add before fall camp.

That might be 4 schollies.

That sucks. Where did Abbington end up?

You can probably thank TJ for that

If he stayed, he couldn't go into the draft (MLB) for 2 years. Going to a juco he can enter next year. If TJ gave him a real shot he might have thought it was worth the wait

We just went from having an embarrassment of riches at RB to praying we have enough in one week

Jesus.
What's the status on TJ?

I haven't heard anything. Initial rumors were Mizzou would do something like Texas did or like they did with GP. No official sit down that I'm aware of yet between him and MR

Makes the case stronger for the Baylor kid Kameron Martin who wants out of his LOI, and is considering Mizzou.

Only problem is he's not really SEC size. We've lost not only 3 RB's but 3 RB's with size.

Think I read he is a Texas or SMU lean. I could be wrong

I wouldn't worry about the size of the RBs. Josey, Murphy, & Hansbrough all had 1000 yard seasons despite not having SEC size.

Yeah, but he's fast. Really fast

PM indicated he's a Texas lean as well, but there's a good chance Baylor restricts the kids from going to other Big 12 schools, which would be great for us.

They can't do that if they release him from his NLI.

Baylor deputy AD Todd Patulski did confirm BU can't block recruits from going to other Big 12 schools if they do get released.

Ah, didn't know that, thanks!

The only thing would be if another school tampered with them after they signed their NLI. I've actually seen quite a few Baylor fans claiming UT, OU and TCU have done just that.
If that is up in the air then maybe he just chooses us so that he can enroll in time.

If Baylor were smart they would let kids go if they wanna go and not restrict them. They have a ton of negative PR and restricting kids from going to any school would look even worse, regardless if there were tampering or not.

Well crud. The plan to feature a balanced offensive system with more running plays took another hit. Not a bad move for Doherty mind you, if he wants to play in MLB then time to start working towards that.
Y'all might not have a SEC type running back next season, at least in terms of someone who can run through a couple of tackles each game. Still, if you have some speed at the position, you can be deadly with draws, sweeps, and other plays that aren't just hunker down and root someone out at the line of scrimmage.
