What tech device would make my life easier?

Go.
I enjoy reading, but don't care for iPads. I use an iPad for work and much prefer a laptop if I need to use the Internet. iPhone 6 is enough in regards to apps and the apple product. Also, I have a smart tv so ruling that out.
I can't think of anything tech related that would make life easier. I try to keep things simple, I'm not into flashy stuff just for the hell of it, but if something, regardless of price, would make life easier-I wanna hear about it.

One of the Kindle Readers. It is like reading off of paper.

if you have a bunch of devices making up a home theater than a logitech hub based remote is amazing.

Any use for a NAS at home? Could go with a model that makes web-access easy
Security cameras & NVR?

1) Wink hub with smart lights. It's pricey but nothing beats being able to control 4 lights separately in my bedroom for when the kiddo sleeps or my wife and I wanna have romantic time. Or when I want to dim the lights from my phone in the main den when the kiddo is sleeping on sofa or doesn't feel well.
2) Do you have a receiver with your TV setup and other devices like Roku or AppleTV? If so, get a Logitech harmony remote. This combines the use of 2-4 remotes all into 1 and makes things easier.

"Connected" items for the home, such as wi-fi thermostat, light switches, door locks, doorbell. I think a Ring doorbell is going to be my next purchase.
