Woo/WP is a not the hosting provider, so whomever yall pay for your website hosting is the provider where you'd setup domain forwarding. May want to consider using the same provider to register the new domain, that way if you plan to move to shorter domain name, you can move website from long domain...
I have a hosting plan that i moved to so i can offer it as a service to customers as well as using it myself. It allows for at least 100 email accounts per domain, plus couple forwarders and alias' per email account. Just gotta shop around for what features you want at best price point. ...

Get 2 separate devices...i like arris sb8200 for modem and have ubiquiti network...asus, netgear, tplink have worked great in other places......
My phone is always on silent, when i set an alarm it always works as intended...
Checkout device specific info on manufacturer website for explanation of operating modes, but seems to be an easy path to test with whats available to you at the moment ...
