primary purpose of stanby mode is to keep you activation and allow the starlink to get it's updates

i bought mini kit earlier this year for test and eval purposes. it worked great and i ended up pausing the subscription not to incur cost while not using. i was trying to transfer it to a buddy but was having issues, so decided to cancel to avoid the hassle. Then got notice of the $5/mo standby mode and did that until able to transfer it to buddy. it worked great.
if i had a camp or did regular trips like you mentioned, i'd definitely have kept it. i have a client that has "frick you" money and installed regular starlink dish at his vacation home so he has a true failover for internet.

The $5/mo will keep it in standby mode and allow for updates. You can just activate the regular service when you need it and pause the service when not needed. However, if it's gonna be used monthly, you'll end up having to pay the monthly regular service.

As long as OP doesn’t need discrete graphics,
I watched a review of Beelink Mini PC, Mini S13 ($200 ) and it seems fine if I dont use it for gaming. I won't need to game on this one so that isn't an issue.
Is this what you mean by "discrete graphics"...is that running these new games?
yeah, if you have any requirements for heavy graphics processing (determined by what apps you'll use and their GPU requirements).
I bought the AMD5 model earlier this year to replace my aged everyday laptop that had become basically a desktop.
Can check prices from Beelink site and price shop. Looking at model I bought earlier this year they have this one on sale for $390 on Amazon

Could look at Beelink mini pc if it fits your use case

i would say the first series or two should show us the truth on nuss, then how the gameplan is handled from there may be better indication
Its been a minute since i had direct/dish, but there is a page in the settings that shows you those diagnostics...maybe chatgpt or youtube will have more direct info

yeah it's perplexing...it appears our OL is just catching the DL...don't really see any push and the best sign of accomplishment each play is if our OL is just able to have a stalemate at the line...woof

Does Marcellus Wallace look like a bitch? Then why you try to frick him like one?
There are open WRs not just the one nuss wants to throw to...same as last year
This is going to be our first real test for a mobile QB against our improved D. Hoping we can minimize the QB run damage, which seemed like the approach vs Clemson. Should be a pretty good chess match...

You misspelled grandchild
i loved the screen game in the second half, which believe was truly an adjustment. am i the only one wondering where were the slants and drags with our speed guys in the first half? i was curious why we didnt see as much of that early on, but we did force it to TD Green early on
Scanned it for virus/malware yet? Check add/remove programs to see if any nag/bloatware was accidentally installed

I got a U-tec Ultraloq and have loved it. Fingerprint, keycode, key to operate. Can add multiple users with code/fingerprint as well as temp codes (set expiration). Ive never enabled it but can use geolocation of phone to unlock/lock as you arrive/depart...i got the one thats just the deadbolt, so was able to keep the doorhandle that wife preferred and just swapped deadbolt
If you already have domain, then find a hosting provider for a wordpress site. That would probably easiest path for you
I think used youtube downloader and grabbed all the football games from 2019, and some select classics i wanted

Of course will need to contain some sort of storage, maybe a little 25-30T SSD NAS?
Have you seen the beelink me mini?
https://www.bee-link.com/products/beelink-me-mini-n150
Im in pensacola/ft walton area and just received the "mobile" (RV, travel) model a week ago. I wanted to do some test/eval for starlink and personal first hand experience. Gotta say, from ordering to receiving/setup, it's pretty damn impressive user experience.
On their website there is a sale for the standard home kit for $149 until the end of April. When poking around to make my order, I found i would also have to pay a one time $100 congestion fee. Which I assume is due to the popularity in our area as we are at mercy of the average ISPs available.
If i have any further service related issues with my ISP, I'm going to make the switch to Starlink for home use. The only thing i haven't tested yet is gaming scenrio due to the latency that's normal in satellite comms. So depending on your use case, standard internet needs seems like a no-brainer. Couple that with your own power backup and you'll have comms when others won't in storm/hurricane situations.
