Auburn is definitely Big Six. Auburn has given the SEC Bo Jackson, Cam Newtown, Cadillac, Iron Bowls, Championships. Texas A&M didnt do anything last year to change that. So the order remains the same until Texas A&M and Ole win a championship.

The Big Six is about your RESUME, not preseason projections

I just ranked the 2016 big six teams. LSU is the top dog going into this season. Georgia is quite frankly rebuilding this year with a ton of talent. Auburn cant be counted out ever, they are sneaky like that. Alabama is Alabama, moving on... Tennessee is top dog in the east with the seasoned QB

Does the SEC really want to claim Cam?

Texas A&M could theoretically make it a "Big 7" if they could rattle off 5-7 solid seasons in a row, plus win at least an SEC Title or two. Obviously a National Title would get them into the group as well. But time is of the essence. You can't allow yourself to get too far behind the "Big 6" in head-to-head matchups. Since joining the league, Texas A&M is just 3-10 against the "Big 6". You'll need to get that number up before it becomes too big of a gap to make up in the future.

Arkansas was in the exact same spot back in 1992 that Texas A&M is in today.... decent program trying to find their way in the SEC. But after 24 years, the Hogs are still looking for their first SEC Championship, and their record of 35-70 against the "Big 6" needs some improvement. I think the Hogs need to win several SEC Titles to ever have a chance at joining the group.

Everyone in the "Big 6" has averaged winning an SEC Title at least once every 10 years or so:

*Alabama has averaged winning one every 3.3 years
*Tennessee has averaged winning one every 6.4 years
*Georgia has averaged winning one every 6.9 years
*LSU has averaged winning one every 7.6 years
*Auburn has averaged winning one every 10.4 years
*Florida has averaged winning one every 10.4 years
----------------
*Ole Miss has average winning one every 13.8 years
*Kentucky has averaged winning one every 41.5 years
*Miss St. has averaged winning one every 83.0 years

No one else has won an SEC Title.

Arkansas needs to win 3 SEC Titles in the next 6-8 years to get to where Auburn and Florida are today. Going zero for 24 has put them in a bad spot, and that hole is getting harder to climb out of.

Ole Miss isn't too far off in the SEC Titles statistic.... they only need another title or two to enter the discussion. But Ole Miss' problem is their horrendous record against the other "Big 6" programs.

All-Time SEC record against the "Big 6":

61.8%: Alabama (170-103-11)
50.4%: Florida (141-139-6)
48.2%: Auburn (144-155-10)
46.5%: Georgia (121-140-8)
46.0%: Tennessee (102-121-13)
45.6%: LSU (98-118-10)
-------------------------------
40.0%: Missouri (6-9)
34.5%: Ole Miss (95-194-8)
33.5%: Arkansas (35-70)
29.6%: Mississippi State (98-238-7)
25.5%: South Carolina (24-71-1)
23.1%: Texas A&M (3-10)
20.2%: Kentucky (63-260-8)
18.8%: Vanderbilt (54-249-9)

Ole Miss only plays 3 "Big 6" opponents annually... then they'll play one from the Eastern division every few years. So assume Ole Miss played four "Big 6" opponents every single year and managed a 3-1 record against such competition every season..... If they did this for 15 consecutive years, it would only improve their "Big 6" winning percentage up to 41.5%... still well below that of the current worst "Big 6" team, LSU. And to win 75% of "Big 6" games over a 15-year period would be nearly miraculous for any program.... let alone Ole Miss.

It's tough to join the big dogs. Texas A&M and Missouri have the best shot, simply because they don't have decades of not meeting the "Big 6" standard like Ole Miss and Mississippi State have.... Mizzou needs more Top 25 finishes, etc. to get them up their too. But their overall performance since joining the league has been a pretty solid attempt.

What? you just said.... anyway, if based off "resume" what is Bama doing behind anybody. Resume is what YOU HAVE DONE.

quote:

LSU is a better team this year than Alabama, that shouldn't be a surprise

Based on what? Absolutely we are surprised. you speak as if LSU has owned Bama the last few years. Good lord.

quote:

But I am saying it this year that LSU will be favored in that match-up this year.

Again, based on what? Bama should and will probably be favored in every game.

Are you in the 7th or 8th grade son?
