Everything about that place is horrible.
A preacher shouldn't have a frickin' helicopter. Sorry. These snakes have perverted the word of God to suit their own greedy agenda, and if hell exists, they have a front row seat lined up. Places like that are NOTHING but a business. A tax exempt one at that. It makes me sick to even think about it.

I'm pretty sure that Governor Phil Bryant attends Pine Lake.

But I get the feeling that the whole thing focuses on the man on stage, more than the man upstairs.
I believe it's different things to different people. I was never a member, but I used to attend there regularly back when they were in the old place by the reservoir. When they moved out to HWY 25, I went for some time, but it definitely took on a different feel to it for me personally. It was just too big, I wasn't a fan of the music style you referenced (the last Sunday I attended they had a kids choir on stage singing and doing some sort of back street boy kind of dance on stage), and a bunch of the people would act like they'd just met a celebrity if they got to say hi to the main pastor. I'm sure it's a great church doing good things for a lot of people, but it wasn't for me.

I started the thread under the premise that many churches would not want a known member of their using religion as a defensive shield to their own bad actions (if you assume OM is cheating, which is a pretty easy assumption...and if you assume Freeze knows about it, which is also a pretty easy assumption, frankly).
That can reflect poorly on the church...to the extent that some churches have disciplinary processes that can result in the member being removed from membership at the church.
However, Pine Lake is so large, perhaps they don't think along those lines. Perhaps they are a love the sinner, hate the sin church...which is not a bad thing IMO.
This whole deal is amazingly similar to Auburn and Chizik. Chizik also interjected religion into every discussion in Auburn's run to the title with Cam Newton. In that situation, he would have had you believe that God had ordained their success because they had team Bible studies...completely dismissing the fact they won a bid war to have the services of the most dynamic player in college football.
Auburn got a national title out of the deal though. Cheaters do win and can win even when they are arguably blasphemous in the process.

Pinelake Oxford, kind of an off shoot Baptist Mega Church
I went to their web site and it looks more like they are non-denominational. I didn't see anything that said they were baptist. I could have missed it, though.

They were Baptist originally but as others have posted disassociated themselves at some point.

Well, if Mr Freeze tithes properly you know they don't want to distance themselves from him.

Yep...an extra $500K per year into the plate is hard to replace.
