Who knows what he said in interviews to team's during the interview process?
maybe there was some misleading or untruthful answers?
The dolphins were aware of the video before they drafted him.

You all who claim he is a victim and a NFL team passing on him is ridiculous. I don't even know what to say. It's obvious you all are emotional on his behalf, but it's a business decision and not them punishing him.
You're missing the entire point.

The Dolphins, whom not many thought would have a chance at Tunsil, have since said they were aware of the video. It's a fair assumption to think that the teams with earlier picks were as well.
And he's not a victim because he dropped to the Dolphins. He's a victim because someone close to him went out of their way to ruin the best night of his life, and intentionally hurt him. I don't know how that is so hard to grasp for some of you. It's mind blowing.

Add to it that sites like Deadspin released after the fact that whomever did it tried to sell the info beforehand and it's pretty much textbook blackmail. And I'd say there's a good chance criminal charges could follow when they find out who did it.

False. I take responsibility for my actions. Tunsil was dumb enough to video that, therefore he should've thought of the consequences of something like that getting out at the time of his recording.
ETA: let me be clear that whomever hacked his account is a horrible person and that was a terrible thing to do.

Still waiting. You said you could do it "right now".

Is he the victim?
Did you feel like Donald Sterling was a victim? Did you feel like Riley Cooper was a victim? Did you feel like government was the victim when Snowden released all their spying info?
All had stuff posted intended to hurt them, but I don't believe anyone thought they were victims. When you do things that are wrong, you have to pay the consequences, and you normally don't get to decide when you pay those consequences.

It doesn't make you any less of a victim just because you made a mistake. You never made a mistake? You've got some pretty sanctimonious views on this subject.

I'm not as emotional enabler like yourself.

They're going to respond with misplaced points about how weed should be legal.

A "victim of society"? Good LORD. No one is responsible for his/her actions any more according to this mindset, as almost any personal "problem" could be excused this way in some form or another. As for the video costing him money, I rather doubt that the NFL was worried about a one time youthful mistake. Obviously, this was not the first time he ever made this youthful mistake. He was in the hotel room where his roommate got messed up enough to fall through a plate glass window. So he smoked weed twice & both times shite happened? Ask any employer's HR dept how it feels about a possible job candidate's dumbness.

So if your bank account was hacked because you utilize online banking, you'd just chalk it up to "Oh I shouldn't have done that online"? You wouldn't consider yourself a victim of an illegal act?
While we live in a day and age where technology is utilized for various things from video to text, there is an assumed amount of privacy we should expect if we're not the one putting that out there for public knowledge. It's why there's laws addressing hacking (see the charges filed against the guy who hacked all the celeb nude photos from the cloud recently).
It is entirely possible to feel sympathy for someone who is pretty clearly exploited from something like that.

Online banking isn't a crime. Horrible analogy.
I feel no "sympathy" for him. He was arguably the best player coming out of high school. He should've known his entire career would be under a microscope. It is entirely his fault that he took a video of himself doing something illegal. Once you do that, you should understand the possibility of it getting out and be prepared to face the consequences, no matter how shitty they may be. Once again, I am not defending the hacker. It was a shitty thing for them to do.

Not at all sanctimonious; I just know how to discern people who make mistakes from people who are victims.

It's pretty telling that everyone wants to focus on the fact that he smoked weed and recorded himself rather than the fact that he was exploited and apparently blackmailed.

How would my account being hacked and money stolen cost me 7 million in a draft?
Posted on 5/1/16 at 11:47 am to pivey14
Hacking into your online banking is a crime. Come on. Don't be so dense.

Tunsil didn't get caught. He was exploited. There is a difference. A much greater difference.
Yes, he was exploited. but his behavior is what got him exploited, or caught or whatever you want to call it. If he had not done it he would have been ok. OR, if you prefer...had he not allowed himself to be filmed he would have been ok. He allowed himself to be exploited.
I feel this way mainly because i have a strong sense of personal responsibility. (Not saying you don't) If you do the right thing then you have nothing to worry about.
Using your logic, then Freeze is a victim, too. The instagram was leaked that he was not running a clean program. Do you believe Freeze is a victim?
(Assuming the instagram is proven to be legit)

What proof is there that he was blackmailed? I never saw that. Can you link so I can be better informed?
