Apparently bama feels really good about Nick Smith. I’m going full speculation mode and guessing that we learned we are third for him and will take Cruz.

I think you're right.
Smith was their target and with Flanigan's influence in Arkansas they thought they had a good shot.
But if that is waning then Cruz is back in.
I just hope it's not an Alabama/Auburn thing and Smith picks Alabama. I don't like Pearl losing to Oats...that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I don’t think anyone knows. Bama insiders are confident and Auburn insiders are hearing he has Auburn and Houston on top.

ESPN came out with their latest ratings, took away Zion's 5th star and dropped him all the way to #56 overall in the country

Imperfect 2 guard with HUGE offensive potential. Bruce has shown an ability to adapt to the strength of a player. It may be challenging at times to scheme around his defense but I like the potential

This is an interesting take. I feel like Bruce believes D leads to O. Seems like if you'll play D for Bruce he'll let you take any shot. I always believe that is a huge appeal in his recruiting. Maybe not lock down grind it out low score wins D, but I always see him as a coach that has a certain expectation of effort on D.

Absolutely correct. His defense encourages risk and playmaking but not lockdown defense until special situations. He is a good defensive coach and knows it very well but his key is creating easy offense

Now hearing Flanigan is going to be out at least until February w/ an injury from his scooter accident.
Hearing it's something related to his Achilles.
