Ive seen him play and he is good but he will need time to learn how to control his coordination

Not trying to look to far ahead.. but it's crazy to think that our entire team actually playing this year could all be back.
I believe in all of Division 1 Auburn is tied for the second youngest team, and has the most underclassmen with 12. (I might have that backwards)
You'd think we could attract a stud 5* with this team. At most we lose our star Heron. If he goes and Wiley and Purifoy never play for AU again, then all Auburn is missing is a superstar but returns a very experienced, talented, and deep supporting cast. The right one and done type player could easily join this team next year and make us contenders to go on a South Carolina like Final Four run.
Pearl's building job has basically mirrored Martin's at South Carolina. Except I think we one up them by making the NCAA in year 4 instead of year 5. But if the correlation continues then that means Final Four next year

Doughty is savvy. Think of a crafty, backcourt version of Murray. He is smooth and will add another dimension to our team or at the very least, another player who can create for himself and others.
There isn't anyone in the 2018 we're still pursuing to my knowledge. There isn't a 5 star talent out there that is considering us. We might pick up a Grad Transfer Big, maybe.. but we don't necessarily need to.

We are #318 in Avg age per minute played at 1.22Yrs (1=SO, 2=JR)
We will have Bryce Brown and Samir Doughty, both should be 18-20ppg next year

What position are we expecting Samir to play? The 3?

He is legit TJ Dunans v2.0 who can shoot respectable FTs and hopefully spent this off-season developing a capable 3FG
Doughty is a ball dominate guard that wI'll play both SG/SF. Due to Brown most likely more SF
Doughty is also good enough ball handler to be acceptable emergency PG. Better than Brown at least

I think we'd love to, since we need more fouls to give in the post.
I just don't know what grad transfer big would be interested

I'm just saying we are an attractive option for grad transfers given we have 4 guys playing well in the post
I could see a JUCO big though. They aren't quite as difficult recruiting battles and given FBI issues we may not need all the 2019 slots and push one to 2020

That makes sense.. even though we don't know who is in play, rather it be a GT, Juco or Transfer to speculate on which route to take.

GenesChin (or anyone), have you had much of a chance to watch Ole Miss this year? That's the only SEC team I've yet to see play.. I know Andy Kennedy typically has his guys playing good ball this time of the year but just from glancing at roster/stats they won't give us much trouble in the front court.
What are you thinking about this one?

Teamrankings lists this as our easiest remaining game (83.9 percent win probability). If our guys are focused and continue to play unselfish ball, we should win. Having said that, OM has enough talent to beat us.
The times we struggle are when guys start trying to get their's offensively. Just like unselfish play, selfish play is contagious and leaks onto the defensive side of the ball. We avoid that and we win.
Prediction: 87-73

What little I've seen of them was their PG playing hero ball. It seemed like every time I flipped over to the Miss State game he was slashing them for an easy layup.

This will be an interesting matchup. I'm not sold on Auburn being a great defender of teams with multiple guards. Ole Miss has about 4-5 guards who can score ~20pts in any given night. I'd expect Ole Miss to give us a scare and keep it close early but AU to pull away at the ending.
Only about 25-30% of Ole Miss' shots come from post players, which is extremely low. It is going to be a guard game
Some OM player notes
PG Deandre Burnett - SR point guard and contender for All SEC
SG/SF Terrence Davis- Slumping (5pts in 3 SEC games) but avg 21ppg on 74% FG vs AU last year
SG Markel Crawford- Memphis grad transfer, pretty good scorer

When you are playing as well as Deandre Burnett, you are allowed to play hero ball
If you are talking about Terrence Davis, he is just as likely to score 25pts as 5pts, so maybe Ole Miss just accepts they'll win/die by him

While I'd normally agree, Auburn is suspect defending guards. Not sure I trust either Harper/Heron defending top level guards which Ole Miss has

I was talking about Burnett. I rarely saw anyone else touch the ball and look like they wanted to shoot.

Burnett has a slightly higher KenPom assist rate than Harper (both around ~#60 nat'l)
He definitely plays some hero ball, but he is good enough to make it work. The issue for Ole Miss is Terrence Davis has been MIA. If Burnett/Davis/Crawford all show up, we will have a long night
