Our "go to" hitter is a football walk on who hasn't played baseball in two years and was offered no D1 schollies in any sport. It's just a collection of walk ons and over the mountain kids who can afford to pay their own way. We recruit to baseball based on your economic situation and ability for your family to pay, not talent alone.
We have many kids who live at home and commute. Some baseball players we have had have drove to school every day from as far away as Vestavia so they didn't have to pay for housing. Most find friends who will put them up. Heard many baseball players talk about sleeping on a couch for 4 years.

with the way the past few days have gone for LSU, Alabama will likely look like their 1996 or 1997 team and win one game 22-6 or 28-2.

Will not be surprised if somehow, someway Alabama wins the series.

Wow. And LSU is accused of being poor. Offer the kids some academic scholarships like the rest of the SEC.

(1) Holcombe is not a football walk-on. He was a 4-star linebacker who was already committed to Mississippi State when we offered him a scholarship. He had plenty of D1 offers.

(2) Collection of walk-ons? Are you high?
- Cobie Vance, freshman, 16th round pick out of high school, 9th best player in North Carolina
- Chandler Avant, 5th overall prospect in Alabama
- Chandler Taylor, 2nd overall prospect in Alabama
- Geoffrey Bramblett, 37th round pick out of high school
- Georgie Salem, 166th best player nationally
- Ray Castillo, 27th round pick, Louisville Slugger High School All American
- Will Haynie, 159th best player nationally

Do you want me to go on? How about guys like Rutledge and others who are now in major league and minor league systems? Were they poor little walk ons who should be at Huntington too?
