Southern Arkansas kids are pretty loyal. Outside of when Nutt was HC and a few kids from Warren went to Tennessee, have we lost out on anyone south of Little Rock that we offered?

Holy shite, I was referencing the OP because you said it was about spring football
Also, Pine Bluff is in

Also our current University administration is closing doors in Texas and opening them to Arkansans. This will likely help the people neither in nwa or Central Ark attend UA, which will in turn drive donorship and interest from those areas

You're just so pissed off you don't live in NWA.
It's hilarious to watch your little angry obsession with NWA play out on here. Little Rock and Central Arkansas ain't that bad.

I thought the thread was about Little Rock? No?

I quoted Central Arkansas from your post

That part of the state has been producing more talent than Central Arkansas has lately

3/4 of that list hasn't contributed to Arkansas or did not attend Arkansas.
So they have to attend and contribute to be considered talent?

You also listed Jeremy Sprinkle for Little Rock? Why? He isn't from Little Rock. He is from White Hall.
Most folks consider White Hall part of central Ar, lots of those folks work in LR, just like Cabot, Benton/Bryant, Conway, etc.

I see I still own so much real estate in your head, must be tough to have to wake up and think about me.
Also, not sure how you have taken anything I've said as anger toward NWA. Damn boy, you need to get back in your "Safe Space".
From now on, I will issue a "Trigger Warning" for you if I start a topic that might get your jimmies rustled.

And it has as of late. The Arkansas football program has gotten much better quality out of south Arkansas than Little Rock, or Central Arkansas lately.
The school systems are so screwed up in Little Rock. I guess, this is what the problem is.

So, you want to start including walk ons too?

You can, just saying that there is a lot D1 players coming out of the Central Arkansas area. I think coaches take more risks from NWA than they do from players in the South. Can't fault them, because they probably see these guys more than our guys.

Also, I only included kids that ended up and contributed at Arkansas in an earlier post.
Not included in south Arkansas production was a RB who has the NCAA record for the most TDs in history at the position. There are others not included either that are D1 talents.
Little Rock just doesn't produce anything hardly any longer, unless it is from a private school system.

Kenneth Dixon, La Tech
and you also left off Pettaway

Thats untrue. Otherwise, we aren't signing players from small towns such as Warren, Smackover, Junction City, etc.
If you're good, you're good. Right now, Little Rock isn't producing much "good" on the football field.

Going to NWA is like going to another state. Like Missouri or Kansas. It's not 'Arkansas Folks', it imports from the midwest, Mexico and the Marshall Islands.
It's all pretty simple, Long has decided they don't have to have Central, South and East Arkansas support anymore, so frick 'em.
Well then, don't be surprised when statewide support wanes.

I know...I figured my point was made. I left off Dixon, Pettway, Dancy, etc.

Not that big of deal. LSU hardly has any support in a huge city only an hour away, and they don't really give a frick
Money is the only thing that matters, and losing someone who only bought one t-shirt and one ticket to WMS per year isn't going to be missed.
Student athletes will always go where their chance to play is the best. Should UA have started playing basketball games in Bentonville to lock down Malik Monk? Or did geography have nothing to do with his decision?
The University is where it is. Little Rock never wanted it. If kids dont see themselves on The Hill, I don't want them here anyway. Just taking up space for someone who wants to be here

But kids growing up these days in central/SE Arkansas, especially kids with parents who don't have time/money to take a trip to NW Arkansas on a Saturday for a game, won't be exposed to live Arkansas football games against SEC competition. Cupcakes are essentially exhibition games when your team is good, and even worse, when your team is bad it's just an embarrassment (ULM/Toledo). That's just not a recipe to breed a strong following in other parts of the state.
This isn't 1980, where exposure is limited to attendance to games. Proximity doesn't matter in the age of the internet, smartphone and modern day TV contracts where every team is on TV every week.
I've said this before, but when my dad was growing up in southwest Arkansas in the 1960s, practically the only way he could watch the Hogs was for my grandad to drive to Little Rock games. Nowadays he's as connected as I am despite me living 5 hours closer to campus by way of social media, the internet, CBS, the SEC Network and ESPN

It's an obvious vacuum in LR. The other state schools are smart to capitalize.
I'm all for UALR fielding a football team to play in WMS.
