Alabama dominated Auburn throughout the 90s. Bama was 7-3 against Auburn and won two SEC title games and a national championship. Bama had a predictable down period after Bear died and a self inflicted down period from 2000-2007. Auburn fans like to forget the 90s ever happened. Since Bear died all Auburn fans talk about is the 80s and Tub's 6 straight.
Alabama was better in the 90s yes but from Bear to Saban, Auburn was the overall better program for sure.

Auburn was better in the 80's, Alabama better in the 90's Auburn better in the early-mid 2000s, Alabama better 2008 - 2015
Pretty simple

Define what you mean by "better program for sure".
Bama had a national title during that time. AU did not. Auburn won 4 SEC titles during that time to Bama's 3. head to head AU had a 14-10 advantage during that stretch (which included 6 different coaches at Bama and 3 different coaches at AU).
As many AU fans proudly (and rightly) cling to their 2010 national title and say they wouldn't trade the roller coaster with a title for consistency without a title, I wouldn't trade the 1992 national title for a .500 record against AU from Bear to Saban.

If you carve out the 1990s, then you're talking about 13 years that just happen to include the tenures of two of the only three Bama coaches (Ears Whitworth being the third) to have losing records against Auburn since the series resumed after WWII.
83-86 Perkins 2-2
87-89 Curry 0-3
90-97 Stallings 5-3
98-02 DuBose 2-1
01-02 Fran 1-1
03-06 Shula 0-4
It's far more accurate to say that Auburn dominate Curry and Shula - which they did. Other coaches during that window were 50/50 or better.
