sure, those scrubs that BowlJackson just posted who went an abysmal 11-20 his first year.
Those scrubs I mentioned all made All-SEC and played professionally overseas. A little better than the 1 guy that Pearl has left from Barbee that can't even start when there's only 5 other scholarship players active.

...im failing to see how saying he's doing worse than Barbee can be justified by saying Barbee had better players when Barbee went an absolutely pitiful 11-20 his first year.

I've had this logo since the World Cup. I've never really paid attention to it. The Auburn sig photo shouldn't be too confusing for you.
You have to look closely at the sig photo to realize it's auburn. At quick glance it looks like you're a GLEE fan.

"still better than Missouri"
No way. Auburn is clearly the worst team in the SEC and would be blown out by Missouri, Miss.St., or any other SEC opponent in either Beard-Eaves or other venue.

A bunch of window lickers in this thread. No way any team would have a winning record given the circumstances Auburn has had to deal with this season. Starting to think the program is cursed.

Well I guess it does, if you expect him to turn walk-ons into effective players. Sometimes you have to adjust expectations to the situation. This year was nothing but horrible luck for our basketball team. We may have one guy starting right now that will start next year.

Canty was Auburns best player and a Pearl guy. Pearl has to take some of the blame for how that situation ended. Did he not recruit Purifoy. Whatever is happening there is partly his fault too. This isn't football where you bring in 25 guys a year, so a couple non qualifiers and risky takes will not kill the class. Basketball recruits have to make it to campus and contribute. Pearl has to take some of the blame for that not happening to this point in his tenure. Not all his fault, but he hasn't done a good job in a lot of areas.

Purifoy had passed his ACT. It got flagged after he got here. Either way, he's worth the take even if he had to sit a year. This year has sucked, no doubt, but I'm not worried unless we're sitting in this situation in year 4. There are no academic risks in the class coming in.

Dude, are you serious? This isn't football with an 85 man roster. No coach in the country has enough talent on the bench to overcome what has happened to Auburn this year.
Pearl is a great coach. He has won everywhere he has been. Auburn has a great recruiting class coming in next year. The stadium has been near capacity for all our games this year. Hopefully, Auburn is about to turn around the basketball program.
