Newton scored a nearly autistic 21. The minimum score determined by NFL Draft experts for a QB to be intelligent enough to play the position is 20. Johnny Dumb arse Manziel scored a 32 on the test. For recent comparisons Marcus Mariota scored a 33 - Jameis Winston 27. Other starting NFL QBs from the last comprehensive list of NFL QB scores available:

Blaine Gabbert - 42

Alex Smith - 40

Eli Manning - 39

Matt Flynn - 38

Colin Kaepernick - 38

Matt Stafford - 38

Andrew Luck - 37

Tony Romo - 37

Sam Bradford - 36

Christian Ponder - 35

Aaron Rodgers - 35

Ryan Tannehill - 34

Marcus Mariota - 33

Tom Brady - 33

Matt Ryan - 32

Matt Schaub - 31

Phillip Rivers - 30

Andy Dalton - 29

Nick Foles - 29

Drew Brees - 28

Kevin Kolb/ EJ Manuel - 28

Peyton Manning - 28

Mark Sanchez - 28

Russell Wilson - 28

Joe Flacco - 27

Josh Freeman - 27

Brandon Weeden - 27

Jay Cutler - 26

Carson Palmer - 26

Ben Roethlisberger - 25

RGIII - 24

Cam Newton - 21

Character and integrity could save Newton if he had any but he doesn't. He can't help himself. He's just a sh!tty fool.

That list appears to have zero correlation to on-field production.

You are stretching hard for this one.

It's not meant to. It's evidence of Cam Newtons immaturity and stupidity.

The purpose of the test and what you are trying to say does not match.

I'm not seeing your evidence.

ETA: for clarification

i feel a bit guilty for enjoying cam's super sunday failure so much. i live in the heart of panther country, and i just didn't choose to give allegiance to the franchise. the trash talk has just been overwhelming these past few months.

can't take the mvp away from him, though. really says a lot for his physical gifts that he can overcome such a disadvantage.

what an athlete. almost superhuman. yet underneath the bravado, borderline retarded with a juvenile attitude that involuntarily comes with an underdeveloped brain. he can't help it.

i want to say all credit goes to denver's defense. just out of respect and sportsmanship...but i'm not quite sure i have ever seen a player in the best position to recover a fumble shy away at the last second...in any game situation. but in the biggest game possible, in a crucial sitation when you have to show what you're made of, he did nothing. didn't even try. that was his instinct. we have undeniable evidence seeing these scores that he can't distinguish a good decision from a bad one.

that loose ball was EVERYTHING...he HAD to jump on it. that's what cam newton is made of deep down.

yeller

i'd be laid up in the hospital for weeks knocked stupid as cam, and not recover the fumble, because i'm not an nfl player, but the singers would write songs for me praising my courage and fearless gridiron prowess.

Reading this made my brain hurt, thanks for the stroke.

we all try to emulate our heroes. don't give up. you're closer to cam status than you think. read the op and keep pushing...even when it hurts. that's your goal. i bet you can even get 20

That makes ZERO sense. A 21 on the Wonderlic is the equivalent of an IQ score of 100. A score of 100 is commensurate with most unskilled occupations. Newton was born with exceptional size and athletic skills but no brains. The average IQ score required to pass a minimum college entrance exam is 110. If he had even a little maturity he could overcome his ignorance but he doesn't. That's a product of his parental influence and values. I wouldn't trust Newton to babysit a Hamster.

If only Greg McElroy could throw and run like Cam... or Cam could read and write like Greg... what a wonderful world it would be.

But he went to Auburn, so the 100 should put him in the running for valedictorian

it's obvious cam has shown this score is meaningless when it comes to his on-field performance. he has been stellar, but that really is an interesting fact.

the dumbest player in the nfl at the qb position can master a complex playbook and put together an mvp season...and i always thought peyton's smarts were what he used to distinguish himself. they're probably overrated and have little to do with him being the best ever.

really lends credence to the 'football is played by dumb brutes' theory. i thought it had evolved past that.

always thought adrian peterson seemed dumb as a rock also.

In Newtons case his ignorance plays out in both his on and off the field behavior. He avoided going after the fumble instinctively just as he acted immature and petulant instinctively at the press conference. Both instincts show a lack of maturity of epic proportions. The fumble may be the more telling incident. He knew diving in after that fumble would be painful. His immature brain sent that signal instead of the wise mature signal that he had to go after it to have any chance to win the game. It's called wisdom and Scam has none of it.
