Jhavonte Dean on his commitment status after being visited by Billy Napier today:

We had a snowstorm today with a lot of snow and wind. It's 25 degrees right now, which is the highest it's been all day.

Also FSU can't really be mad about Cowan and Wright. They got Demarcus Walker, Matthew Thomas, Travis Rudolph, Jalen Ramsey, Marquez White, Eddie Goldman, and Jameis Winston. Also Chris Casher and Justin Shanks. I may be leaving a couple out.

Don't forget that little DB that ended up going to FSU. He got kicked off the team later, but he was hell. We were the favorites until something last minute happened

Think it went Reid called Smart and committed, told his coach, coach went out of his way to talk him out of it, even as far as calling his mother whom he didn't live with, to convince him to go to FSU.

frick his HC...

ETA: And frick Travis Rudolph's troll attempt, I said he was faking his interest in Bama then and he was.

Bruh... y'all are digging up some old wounds now, LOL. I remember those days, when I use to hang on all the recruiting information that I could get my eyes on.

Now its like oh, we flipped a safety from FSU. I guess that's sorta cool.

Not saying I dont check this thread daily or anything, but its just a different level of vestedness (appreciate your work Saint and crew). And I am soooo close to cancelling my BOL sub.

I keep my BOL account because it allows me to read all of the articles on the 247 network.

Alabama QB commit Tua Tagovailoa’s father comments on hosting new Oregon coach Willie Taggart

Alabama quarterback commit Tua Tagovailoa will host an interesting visitor in his home in Ewa Beach, Hawaii Thursday night — brand new Oregon coach Willie Taggart.

It’s interesting because of the connection the state of Hawaii has with the University of Oregon. Former Saint Louis quarterback, the school Tagovailoa attends, Marcus Mariota won a Heisman Trophy with the Ducks. Mariota and Tagovailoa have a good relationship, but the latter ultimately decided to create his own path and commit to Alabama.Tagovailoa’s father, Galu, told SEC Country that he spoke with Taggart Thursday afternoon and kept it real with him.

“They’re supposed to be out here to see my nephew (3-star defensive end Myron Tagovailoa) and they just wanted to speak to Tua. I’m fine with it,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “I know he’s a new coach and he wants to get the energy going, but at the same time, we expressed to him that Tua is locked in to Alabama. He just wanted a chance to speak with him, and I’m fine with it.”

Oregon hired Taggart on Wednesday and the new coach gave off a great first impression to the Tagovailoa family. Galu respected Taggart’s effort by using one of his first recruiting trips as the Ducks coach to see his son.

“He’s a very respectful and nice guy. The thing with Coach Taggart — Oregon got him in early enough to do his recruiting. He’s so aggressive with his recruiting. He was saying what Tua can bring to the program, and I totally understand that.”

The U.S. Army All-American told SEC Country a few weeks ago that he didn’t want to take any additional official visits other than to Alabama. His father, Galu, said he wanted Tua to take additional visits for the experience, but his son was only focused on Alabama — and that remains the case.

“He’s locked in to where he feels like he doesn’t need to visit anywhere,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “With this new coach that’s on board at Oregon, I like his style, but I honestly don’t think he’s going to persuade Tua at all.”

Tagovailoa will enroll at Alabama in January.

Niebuhr says Solomon will OV to them Jan 20. He says Michigan and UGA lead right now.

ETA: it seems that Solomon promised UGA coaches he would ov with them Jan 20th, but now he won't. Jan 20th is Auburn's bagman weekend.
