A&M needs to build relationships with other QBs in the 2017. We cannot afford to go into 2017 with only SR Hoob & RS FR Starkel then get left at the alter by Tate.
A&M should be open an honest with Tate. A&M should continue to evaluate and recruit other guys, BUT not offer them until Tate gives them a reason to.
A&M should NOT just go out an offer another 2017 QB without talking to Tate first. There is no reason to offer anyone else while Tate Martel is recruiting as effectively as any coach. Just dumb if that is indeed the case.

I think A&M should respect Martell's wishes to be the only QB in the class and completely cut off contact with any other 2017 QBs. It always works out well when this is done. Always.

Why I hate the "don't offer a QB this class, it might drive the elite guy away next year" mantra. Or any other position for that matter. You have to look out for the team, not for a single player who isn't even on your roster yet.
A&M needs QBs, they aren't gonna magically gather to College Station. They have Tate for 2017, but that's not nearly enough considering they have only 2 on scholarship.
They went and offered a guy who fits perfectly in their system from a school who has fed to a place like Oregon. That would be the bigger issue, offering a guy who might be an Oregon lock.

That almost blew up in our face with Kyler Murray (in fact, looking back on it, IT DID).
We could have had Stidham, but broke contact with him after Murray committed.

Hard to know whether or not A&M has told this kid he is it or if they will pursue other guys. If they told him he's it and then do this then ya I can see that pissing someone off. But if you tell a kid you are going to keep other options on the table then I don't see problem with it. Either way don't think it's very smart of Martell to respond like that. Better to get ahold of the coaches and find out what's going on before melting down on twitter.

Tate's gone, he's just looking for a reason. Can't blame Aggie however, hope LSU learned their lesson about eggs/basket.
