Bizarrely talking to a Bama fan today at soccer game and he was saying rumor is throughout Bama that bama did in fact report Ole Miss for recruiting violation of an eventual bama signee (Bo Scarbrough) of events that occurred during his visit at Ole Miss and that they self imposed a 4 game suspension of the player for what happened. This was a Bama fan btw not an ole miss or LSU guy. Anyone heard anything about this?
I don't think this was included in the infraction letter, but not sure.

It's being discussed on the SEC Rant.

What I can not connect is that Saban is on record saying Bo's suspension was not recruiting related. So that statement is either just factually inaccurate or they didn't self-report (Bama) recruiting violations. The self-report is pretty much public.

No, haven't heard anybody say this but you. Who is this random fan? AD? President? SID?
no Haven't heard a word about it. Speculation from a couple folks, mainly you but nothing else.

Or he meant that it wasn't about Alabama recruiting him, because at the same time he said it was about amateurism. Meaning, someone paid him something or gave him a impermissible benefit somewhere along the line.
Given his trips to Oxford while he was academically ineligible, I don't think the Ole Miss rumor is a stretch. Especially in light of these other violations.
But who knows, they keep so much shite private.

Well considering you are one of the resident atpb'ers, why are you asking?
And yes this has been discussed since the fall.

As a matter of fact... yes.

I heard Mizzou reported them for the Royce Newman recruitment. They got to his coach, and he steered Newman to Ole Miss.

You should reach out to tut and his buddy bluetunatiger, you could learn a thing or two.

Basically what he said. He might has well have winked and mouthed "ole miss" when the news of the suspension broke. I called it at the time. Didn't know if OM would ever face repercussions, but it looks like they're about to.
