A poster on 247 who was very close to Mecole's recruitment has said that Mecole wants to move to offense and get the ball in his hands and that if he isn't given that opportunity he will transfer. Based on attrition (Choates, McGraw, Briscoe) and Mecole possibly moving to WR, I can see why we're signing 7 DBs.

I could see Mecole immediately stepping up as our main PR, KR and slot receiver.

good. I love mecole and the guy has potential out the ying yang but he was never a natural DB even in high school. Usually with "athletes" despite their athleticism they're better suited for one position, like Richard Samuel should have been at LB instead of RB. Mecole is electric so might as well give him the ball and see what he can do.

During his press conference Kirby said that for now Mecole is staying at CB because UGA is deficient at the position.

I hope some of them turn into decent pass blockers though. This year proved that if defenses just clog the LOS it's tough to run the ball. Our passing offense has to improve greatly.

I'm happy with who we have over Jaymest. He may be a great ball player but his size is a liability.
