I only have Rivals because of the huge student discount. Paying 10 bucks for a whole years worth, but it's pretty bad. Definitely wouldn't recommend paying the normal rate.

Also used to share a 247 account with a guy. That is a significantly better website, but still probably not worth the money. If you can get added to the John Deloach email update, you can get every article written by both sites for free. You just have to wait til that night to read them all.

Hell, you can just follow both on facebook and they'll post their articles there after a few hours. Plus this place usually has that info summarized in a few short minutes.

Good for him. He's a great guy and friends with Dabo.

It's kind of late in the process too. I wonder who all will apply or if they hire within. It would a bonus for us for a pro UGA guy.

Does anyone with premium content have an update on Demetris Robertson?

Saw him downtown tonight. Seemed to be having a good time. Definitely not premium content, but worth passing on.

Sounds Good. Only if we can get him to sign a LOI with the good guys also.

FYI, this likely isn't happening. That's not to say he won't end up at UGA... at this point that's still a crap shoot but getting the FAA papers signed is definitely a positive sign. DRob and the family have both now said a couple of times that they likely will not sign a LOI once he decides on a school (and IIRC there is a cutoff some time in April/May for signing one anyways?). FAA is sufficient to have the school hold a scholarship for him, so could be looking at another Roquan Smith situation where you really aren't "certain" until he registers for classes.

Also reports coming out saying D rob told Justin Schaffer that he would be in Athens in June when summer practices begin. Also seemed to be loving Athens.

Kinda off topic, but I sure hope we can build grayson into a pipeline, absolutely no reason whatsoever it shouldn't be already. I'm hoping that with mickey leaving it'll open the floodgates. Not to say that he was necessarily pushing kids away, but I mean the HC playing on a bama national title winning team probably didn't help UGA's chances a lot with some guys.

We need a lot of help around metro ATL. I think Kirby is going to have/already has a much better relationship with the coaches in this state than Richt did (I think he certainly has their respect from his time at Bama, anyway). If we can get some UGA guys to move up the ranks it will go a long way toward helping us to secure talent in this state

Agreed. It is often fortunately/unfortunately a largely self fulfilling prophecy though. I think Kirby's (and staff's) focus on relationships with kids in addition to his already strong relationships with HS Coaches in the state is a fantastic starting point. After that, it's what you do with them. Coaching kids up, getting them to the next level, and being transparent during the recruiting process (avoiding miscommunication that leaves a bad taste in the mouth of both the athlete and the coach(es)) will be critical. If in his first few seasons we see a better prepared team, more attention to detail, and putting quality effort into every game regardless of the score (which we *all* want), I think that will speak volumes to the HS Coaches in terms of where they are comfortable recommending/steering kids that are seeking their opinion. Additionally, this freshman day is another great step in the right direction for building relationships earlier with kids, and correspondingly should improve relations with coaches as well.

Why does kirby have better relationships in our state than our former coaches did?
