There is your difference. It's like Vince Dooley told Saban before taking the LSU job. "If LSU ever gets it figured out (meaning a BAMA level commitment from the state & program), EVERYONE in the SEC is playing for 2nd place."

Unfortunately, we're just now starting to see what real commitment looks like and takes.

Did he really say that?

Beacause I've heard that exact quote being referenced for 30 years, to Bryant and the University of Florida. Which I think is more likely.
