So you don't think that having 9 of the opponents on your schedule becoming increasingly insignificant and financially uncompetitive is an issue? The conference you were a part of for like 90 years failed for this very reason and it was a huge deal. Again. Absolutely the DUMBEST smart kids I know. It's as if you are all completely devoid of any business knowledge past freshman level accounting. The Big 12 is a part of your brand, and the LHN leverages against that brand, instead of against others. To lack the self awareness to even remotely acknowledge that your actions can have negative implications is amazing. I'm not complaining, honestly. I love it. Y'all are the DUMBEST smart kids I know. Keep it up, please. I'm loving the shite show.

I might add the word live to content but pretty spot on

Some people said the same thing about A&M. I heard it from all my A&M buddies. No way, the Texas legislature wouldn't allow it. Too much oil money to be split with UT. Rivalries are too entrenched...And so on.

Whoever you were talking to was woefully misinformed.
There was ONE Legislator who made some noise and he stfu when he realized he had stepped on a land mine.
The only mistake Texas A&M made was not joining the SEC a lot sooner. That move has created a lot of value for Texas A&M and the SEC.
OU can do all the potbanging they want. They don't bring enough to the table:
Money? Oklahoma has less than half the cable subscribers as North Carolina. You going to be okay with a smaller check from the SEC Network?
Football credibility? You are smoking something if you think the SEC needs more good teams.
Nice venue to visit? Away games at that shite hole sux.
Scheduling? Either go to 9 games or eliminate cross division rivalries. Not attractive.
Cultural Affinity? You have got to be effin kidding! They are Yankees.
Academics? Downgrade, they aren't even an AAU school.

No, even if this is the long term result. I know that may not sit well with you and I certainly don't care. Markets and situations change and I'm not a fan of the Big 12. I am a fan of Texas. The other schools in the conference need to do what's best for them. Perhaps doing what is best for them is trying to push the arguments that Boren is making. Maybe they will bolt like A&M did. It's what happens to institutions. They change.

No, you Aggies consider the SEC part of your brand. Texas does not consider the Big12 part of its brand. The Big 12 is it's conference. You all have made a business decision to make this about your conference, and Texas never has.
(It's a chicken an egg deal, but the Big 12 has a natural geographic disadvantage that the SEC doesn't have. I'm not arguing that Texas might have more conference loyalty if it were in the Pac or the SEC.)
Our freshman level accounting and business acumen have led to the richest revenue machine in college sports. I'm okay with it.

Will take your accounting tips under advisement. I'm loving the show two, because I'm thinking Texas will flip at least one recruit from A&M, and will make some improvements on the football field this year.

Stanford's standards have clearly dropped.

Texas hasn't "flipped" a recruit from A&M in the Kevin Sumlin era. They may have won a few head to heads, but there's only been 3 flips between the two schools, all going to A&M:
Thomas Johnson (2012)
Zaycovan Henderson (2014)
Otaro Alaka (2014)
A flip is when one school's commit flips his commitment to the other school without decommitting first.
If you want to stretch that to include recruits who decommit from one THEN commit to the other, you have to include Ricky Seals-Jones in that mix as well, making the score 4-0 in A&M's favor.

They don't consider it a part of their brand because they know it dilutes them so they don't acknowledge it. It's like telling a crazy dumb chick she acted crazy and dumb. The lack of self awareness is identical. I feel like a parent telling a petulant child they aren't allowed to have candy. The Big 12 logo is painted on your field. You wear it on your jerseys. It's a component of your recruiting. At the end of the day when the Big 12 office is selling off their tier 1 and tier 2 inventories... Kansas vs Iowa State goes in to the inventory just like the RRS does... And the it gets split up evenly(thanks to recent negotiations especially). So when Iowa State and KU gets bumped in favor of literally every other game on at the same time, the lack of interest and ad revenue has a tangible result. The shittiness of the Big 12 DIRECTLY affects your bottom line. Your wallets. Absolutely the DUMBEST smart kids I know.

Must be embarrassing to go 5-7 with a cream puff schedule and getting blown out by Iowa State.

A&M has brought more to the SEC than any other expansion school quantitatively and I don't think its even debatable. Some of the other schools are better fits than others, but they are more than pulling their own weight.
Money? A&M
Fanbase? A&M
Recruiting Base? A&M
Stadium? A&M
Based on the factors I just mentioned I would rate the potential schools like this:
Money: NC State, OU, Va Tech.............................. OK ST
Fanbase: OU, Va Tech, NC State........................... OK ST
Recruiting Base: NC State, Va Tech, OU.......... OK ST
Stadium: Va Tech, OU, OK ST, NC ST
All that said we need to face the reality that ESPN is basically bankrupt. Its like the housing bubble, they are dead but still shuffling around because not all the bills have come due yet. Their business model has busted and they have long term contracts that will drag them out of business as soon as Disney/ABC get tired of propping them up. Even our massive new ESPN contract is probably not worth the paper its written on.
In that environment why would anyone be trying to renegotiate contracts and expanding?

I wouldn't go as far as calling them Yankees, but they are a solidly western/midwestern state.

So getting shut out by Iowa State 24-0 in their homecoming game wasn't embarrassing?
At least we know you can't set the bar two low.

Don't get yourself in the position of being up there and having a dead car battery that needs to be jumpered.
After you find out how they are you will be happy when you cross the border back into Texas.

So you're saying Bama and USC would turn down the deal if they were offered it?
Yes.
USC turned down an unfair share of the PAC 12 Network money because they realized that they are geographically isolated from many other elite programs so it makes sense to share the weath in order to build up the local competiton.
Bama values rivalries WAY more than Texas and would have turn down a Bama Network if it threatened to end the Tenn or Auburn game.
