if they cannot...this thing could get ugly, running QB or no. I have seen some games and some comments that are making me think they can't move the LOS or pass protect.

I am sure Dabo will be telling us all about it during Clemsons celebration interviews.

Nobody can block Bama. Not even the Berlin Wall. They're GOATs

Is that want you want to hear?

Dabo will have a good offensive game plan and a mobile QB with weapons has always given Saban trouble. However, this front 7 is unlike Clemson has ever seen. They won't be able to consistently block Bama but if Dabo can get his guys into space quickly, they have a shot. Bama wins though.

They are going to get after Deshaun hard. I see only a few options

1) He gets wrecked all game, turnovers are forced and made ineffective like Dak (70%)
2) He gets hurt like Colt (20%)
3) He makes incredible GOAT plays after extending the play with the legs like Cam (10%)

Watson doesn't get sacked very often, but he does get pressured. When he's in pressure he doesn't perform well at all.

Clemson o line is good enough. I think some of you are underestimating how good deshaun Watson is

nobody has been able to block us all year, and we only rush 4. watson will have to be on the move, pretty sure we are going to emphasize containing him and not over-pursuing while going for the big hit. hes a better runner than a passer, and hes at his weakest when passing on the move under pressure (makes mistakes, throws ints). i think we can cover clemson's receivers with our guys, i think we can affect watson and stop the run with just 7 in the box, and i think we can afford to have a spy on him most of the time. They will score some, probably will be on some big plays or off our turnovers. Thats pretty much the only way anybody has been able to do it this year. hard to tell how good their D is when they play such garbage teams all year. they seem to have pretty good team speed, but i doubt they have the depth to take a pounding from our run game. as long as we dont get in a hole early from turnovers we should be able to crush the life out of them on both sides of the ball by the 4th quarter, then it would get out of hand. If we have to play catch up witht he pass game, i feel alot better about our chances now than i would have 2 months ago. Coker has improved so much over the season its incredible

If Clemson cant run the ball effective enough to make Bama bring down that SS then it will be a long game.

I'm expecting Watson to frequently roll out with an option to run, pitch the ball to a trailing RB or pass after the LB's and/or secondary come up to stop the run. When this strategy is executed well out on the edge, it is darn near impossible to stop both the run and the pass with a smart QB making optimal choices. It effectively concentrates the offense at the point of attack and negates a powerful front 7. It's why the better/smarter offensive teams will continue recruit athletic/duel-threat QB's; it adds a completely new dimension to your offense.

This type of offense largely explains why Tennessee went from a crappy offensive team to one of the best as Dobbs developed as a duel-threat QB. I fully expect Bama to struggle vs Clemson just as they did against the Vols.

Not many teams have done so. Don't see Clemson doing it.
