Is Georgia-Georgia Tech a real rivalry?

Georgia Tech is an urban school that maintains high academic standards and runs the triple option. They're not a relevant program and don't appear they ever will be again. This is basically like the UT-Vandy rivalry right? Time for UGa fans to stop touting this permanent OOC rival as anything significant.

I consider UF and Auburn to be more legit, but it varies across the board. There's literally no way we stop playing GT, so it doesn't leave us much room for other big OOC opponents.

I think people underestimate GT because UGA beats the shite out of them all the time. They've been a top-25ish program forever

Visit Athens on a day Tech beats them there (rare, I know). It's poisonous. It is so much worse than if they lost to some shite school like ULL.

Well they didn't play under Franklin but In 2012 they beat Ole Miss who destroyed MSU. In 2013 they beat UGA and UF.

We've seen what happens when Alabama plays a triple option team.

None of these results apply to the teams that played in the Orange Bowl. Tech in 2013 was average. An average GT team being worse than Vandy's best team ever isn't really an indictment of Tech's program.
