The point is you don't need a hotel though. May have to find something to do with the small amount of luggage you'd need though. Maybe rent a car would work and you are golden.

Atlanta, GA (ATL) to
Maricopa, AZ (MRC)
They are doing track work between Atlanta and New Orleans during the week apparently, so it isn't even an option.

I booked everything prior to the Cotton Bowl, Bought the insurance for the flights if we lost.
Basically everything road on if we won or lost. If we lost I would cancel it all that night and lose nothing on the hotel and or flight due to the insurance bought. So losing out on 150-200$ ,instead of thousands.

Yea, we just decided if we lost we'd move the flights out to May and go to New York for a long weekend or something. Made me feel better about my irrational decision.

Just got back from the Keys, not exactly a cheap place.
But, please, go on and tell me all about my trailers.

Exactly, the flight can be moved but eating the rest of it would have made me rage.

I hope they go to a fun place eventually. Tampa? Atlanta (where the sec champ will have played one month before if they make it)?
I guess the new 49ers stadium three years out is pretty cool.

I think a national title game in the middle of SEC Country where fans could drive to the game, stay 1 night and head back would demand a gigantic price. Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee.........if any of those teams were in the Atlanta game it would be a war to get in the door.

Atlanta CFP tickets are going to be expensive in 2016.
The National title game here in 2018 should be as well.
This assumes a SEC team gets in.

Difficult to find flights in such a short span from last week's games.
Lots of Clemson people have said this as well. Do yal not Southwest? No airline points?
It stuns me how many people (especially once you get to the final four) didn't plan ahead.

Southwest really wasn't THAT much cheaper when I looked (late December). We one wayed on Southwest, but not round trip.

I hate to admit it but we paid $2200 each for 4 tickets to the 2011 game between Lsu-Bama

1. Two bowl game trips a week apart saps everybody's budgets.
2. The game is geographically far from both schools.

Tickets to the game were extremely expensive. The price didn't go down before game time either.

Another big issue is quick turnaround of the actual tickets.
Alabama didn't send their allotment out via email until yesterday. I'm sure Clemson was similar. That is 50% of the stadium tickets which weren't issued until less than a week before the game. That is going to wreak havoc with the marketplace.
Yep, apparently "print at home" tickets are the new rage now, especially for quick turnaround games, as such, the secondary market is completely screwed up as the tickets aren't out there long enough to settle in.
