2008 Ole Miss vs. 2015 Ole Miss

How do you think that one would play out? I'm still of the opinion that the 2008 team was the most talented team in Ole Miss history and could've contended for a championship if they had any resemblance of a head coach calling the shots
A very comparable scenario to this year, although I think the '08 team had more grit and quite a bit more leadership on the field

Swag>Snead
Treadwell, Core, String, Adeboyejo=Wallace and Hodge
McCluster>Walton
Engram>HR Greer(?)
Tunsil and them boys>Oher and them
Nkemdiche, Fadol, Haynes & Co. >>>>>> Hardy and Tillman and Peria
Walker, Trahan, Fein > Nkemdiche and CJ
Webster, Hilton, Conner, Bridges, Chief > Sanford, Lewis, Green, Vaughn
Obviously the Freeze staff was infinitely better than Nutt and his staff but I think Freeze would rather have the 2015 talent over the 2008 talent.

Oher and John Jerry made for a much better line than what we have now
Hardy, Tillman, Laurent, Powe, Lockett and Peria >>>>
Sanford, Lewis, and Vaughn are still playing in the NFL. I don't know what you're trying to say there

I believe this years OM team would run 08s team off the field. In a game where each team played to potential.

You don't know what I'm trying to say? I'm trying to say Conner will be better than all of them and there'll be multiple other guys from the 2015 secondary that'll play in the NFL for a few years.

We were awfully strong at he end of that '08 year. This year too, but had so many injuries that I'm not sure what we truly could have been.

How about taking the Wake Forest 08 loss team vs. the Memphis loss team this year.
Who ya got?

Wake forest was worse imo. Memphis actually gives a damn about us

I agree. 2015 OM rolls. Snead doesn't have the chest.

Snead would've been a first round pick had he played in Freeze's offense. Nutt ruined that guy. Quite a shame looking back on it

2008 defense would be much better than 2015 defense. 2015 offense is slightly better than 2008.
I'm going with 08. At the end of the year it was the hottest team in the country, period.

Ok, I'm sick of the speculation. Let's let them settle this on the field

Are we throwing out all the injuries? The 08 defense has more talent but if Gross and Conner are healthy it's close. The 15 offense is better; but again it's close.
I'd take the 15 squad. Coaching is the difference.

It takes a lot of grit to come back from a 3-4 start, I guess, but I'll take the other one.

2015 would smoke 2008 and it wouldn't even be close.

And that Cotton Bowl win was less dominating than everyone remembers. That one was still a game late in the 3rd quarter. This year's team would have beaten that Texas Tech team as bad as it beat Oklahoma State.
The SEC west is a lot more brutal now than it was in 2008.

Have little doubt the 2015 would kill the 2008 team. 2015 may be the best team we've ever put together.
