i about lost my shite at work today. Guy told me he wanted to do a portion of my work because he had more experience with it and could finish it faster. I was up against a deadline so i said ok, so i could wrap up other areas of the project....He did the work, then went to the new partner at our firm and made it look like i didnt do the work out of neglect. Now the new partner thinks i fricking suck at my job. I wanted to crush his face

We would be having words offline after work. If that ment it went farther than just words, so be it. I can't stand people who do that shite. I saw it happen way to many times in the Military.

Believe it or not you won this. He got a slight bump with the bosses, but he revealed himself as an ahole to you. Play it cool. Losing his entire credibility to a co-worker (you) is a big loss. You'll beat him in the long run. Just keep getting better at what you do. You got this.

Want to? Hell I did it 20 years ago. I didn't technically knock him out but he had a nice shiner. He was the son-in-law of one of the owners and they fired his arse.

I think we've all had the urge to brain a co-worker or two. People don't leave their baggage at home when they come to work.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see the benefit you get by sitting on this instead of talking to your boss and splaining exactly what happened.

So much this. Be Littlefinger, not Ned. I've had like three people do this sort of stuff to me at work. None of them are employed at my workplace any longer.

Discretion is the better part of valor.
shite like this is annoying, but nothing that can't be disproven in the long run. Far better to go about it that way than by raising a stink over something that isn't super career threatening.
