I loved how Saban handled this
Are we in? no problem
Who do we play? no care
Pizza party? nah
Open stadium stadium to students for announcement? nope
Players gather to watch show? they were sleeping
ESPN had to turn the lights on in the complex-
Bama don't care about getting in. It's expected. Now the season starts.

We act like we've been there before because, well, we have.

I love the "act like you've been there" approach.

I think the lights out, stay home approach was to hide the looks on the players's faces if it was announced they would be playing Oklahoma again.

The ESPN crew actually had to turn on the lights themselves...

Banquet in Birmingham last night, game Saturday night, let everyone have a break. These shows are over-hype anyway and their expiration date has passed.

Saban said publicly that he handled and approached the playoff the wrong way. I like the new approach. Process it. No parties. No celebration. Business. DWI.

The only one who really went out of their its way to celebrate was Clemson. I don't think it's odd to watch the thing together then have a meeting.

Maybe one of these days you will understand this feeling a little more.

Don't strain your shoulder patting yourself on the back.

Not a problem, we are in peak physical condition

I found it comical as well.

Maybe, maybe not... but at least we are in the mix. Enjoy your trip up fabulous 280 and the night lights of Birmingham this December.

I knew it would be that way. I just had a feeling. Remembering how lax and smug they were last year had me uneasy. Even through weeks of prep until the game all there were talks about how older players were dismissing Ohio State, talking about how they would kill them and referencing the 2011 Capitol One Bowl. I'm glad there is no one left from that time. Hope these guys are focused, they will need it in both games.
