Is Lane Kiffin a Good Offensive Coordinator?

This often gets discussed in-game when Alabama's offense is rolling (he's great) or when it's stalling (he's overrated/straight-up bad). Since it's mid-week and the question is less likely to elicit hair-trigger responses, what's your honest opinion on Kiffin's effectiveness as an OC?

His red zone play calling is head scratchinly bad sometimes and that goes back to his USC days but overall he is really good, he just has a tendency to get to cute at crucial times.

Lane is one of the more frustrating OCs out there. My honest opinion is that he can script some absolutely brilliant plays from time to time BUT those plays often rely on super-talent and wouldn't work with lesser players (those splash plays are why he's overrated - people remember them and forget the dumb calls). He also gets rattled easily and goes away from what works too quickly. He's an impatient OC and one who a good DC can frustrate easily if he has the horses to harry the offense.
He has a lot to improve upon as an OC.

Lane is the best offensive mind in the conference.

Good. Better with QBs. Look at job he did with the kid at UT. Last year converted a RB into a playoff QB. The guy knows his stuff.

He is very hard to predict as a play caller but has a tendency to fall in love with the pass.
Basically he's the Anti-Les Miles
