I love this whole "unelected" spiel that conservatards like Ted Cruz trot out when they don't get their way on an issue. Citizens United, Bowers v. Hardwick, et al were all great, necessary, correctly decided decisions upholding the Constitution, but as soon as the Court reaches a decision they don't agree with (as in Roe v. Wade or Obergefell), it's "five unelected lawyers in Washington" or "a cabal of unelected people holding power for life." You can't have it both ways.

I love how evangelical conservatards base their understanding of life for pro-choice/abortion arguments on science, and then go on to deny the existence of evolution and claim that the Earth is 3,000 years old because the Bible tells them so despite all scientific evidence to the contrary.

How is "killing" a single-celled organism the instant it becomes "life" any different from killing a mosquito or an ant? The organism you're referring to at the moment of conception would be totally unrecognizable to you as a human being and has no brain, heart, lungs, liver, kidney or stomach.
This is distracting from the actual argument from people on the left, which is really about more than the scientific definition of life and the moment it begins.
More importantly, this bill is unquestionably unconstitutional and will be struck down. It's a waste of time and money, and just goes to show that Oklahoma is a joke of a state. Their governor is the worst governor in the nation, and their entire government is actually on an even par with Alabama's, which would seem almost impossible.

I live in SF and was not even aware that this existed. Chain restaurants do extremely poorly in this city, but it does have a 4.2 rating on Yelp. I'm guessing much of its clientele is drunk Giants fans leaving AT&T Park and looking for food.

On the one hand, yes, it's preposterous for Oklahoma to even insinuate that it belongs in a conference with Stanford and Berkeley--arguably the best private school in the country and the best public school in the world.
On the other hand, you can't really fault them for trying. Being associated with schools like those two would only improve OU's station. It's more that those two schools want nothing to do with Oklahoma.

Do whatever you've done to be successful up to this point in your life. Law school is different from undergrad, but don't, for example, outline or join study groups just because everyone else is. What works for others won't necessarily work for you.

Just like back in the BCS days. It was interesting last year how the playoff system seemed immediately validated by an eventual champion ranked #4 by the playoff committee. Yet here we are again with #1 vs. #2.
But were the rankings far off from reality last year? Certainly Ohio State was the #1 team, but who was really the second best team? Oregon, who entered the playoffs as #2, or Alabama, who entered as #1?
