Wrong. Meyer won a national championship. Herman was a part of that, but not the sole reason. Don't get me wrong, I like Herman. He'll be a great coach one day. I don't understand why Mizzou can't target him.

Played for Paterno, also spent a year with Coughlin in the NFL. One of the few NFL coaches with more than 1 Super Bowl

So then I'll ask you the same question I haven't gotten anyone to answer on either board.

Today you have two candidates.

2000 Gary Pinkel.
Or
2015 Matt Rhule.

Who do you hire?

Sure it matters. It's not the defining mark, but it matters.

And I'm not sure that a .500 coaching record qualifies for the title "proven winner."
