Saban's Heisman Impact

We all know that before Ingram in 2009, An Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy. Not only that, I'm pretty sure Bama's only Heisman finalist making it to New York was Jay Barker in 1994 finishing 3rd.
Without some incredible meltdown against Florida (multiple fumbles and a Bama loss) Henry basically locked up the Heisman yesterday. During Saban's 9 years at Bama, Alabama will have won two Heisman Trophies. Not only that, there have been three other Heisman finalists to make it to New York (AJ McCarron, Trent Richardson, and Amari Cooper).
It's absolutely amazing how much prestige Saban has brought to a program that already had so much tradition.
And to my LSU friends regarding Fournette, if Henry and Fournette had swapped places/teams, I feel like Fournette would be in exactly the same position as Henry is now. Which is really my point. In a day and age where the Heisman has become as much a team award as individual, Saban has been able to showcase some amazing talent during his time at Bama.

Well when every player you sign is a high 4/5 star guy it stands to reason you're going to be pretty talented.

Oh I'm sorry, should have started another thread whining about grass, refs, or Les Miles. Don't have enough of those out there.

Henry will win the Heisman Bc he is a solid RB on the best team in a down year for college football. In most other years he wouldn't come close to winning but there's really no one else out there.

What does any of this have to do with Auburn's turf?

"Bama's only Heisman finalist" - David Palmer

There have been others that were finalists before going to New York became a thing for anybody but the winner. I mean the trivia question last night mentioned Johnny Musso being a "finalist" the year Pat Sullivan won it.

Right, I know there was a point in time where a select group of finalists starting going to New York for the announcement. Started twenty years ago or so I think. My point was that I think Jay Barker was the only one to go. Missed the Deuce I guess.

Breaking SEC records in a down year for the SEC. He's my doing anything LF or a slew of former RBs wouldn't also do if they played on Bama this year.

A great College coach has great College players who are more times than not, busts in the NFL, just like their coach.

Cry more bitch....not Henry's fault he plays for a winner and LF plays for a retard whose season collapsed and his job is hanging by a string.

Well there's one way to stop posters like this: just hope that LSU makes a solid hire here of a HC that can return LSU to being competitive in the west.... oh wait, nevermind. Well baseball season will be here before you know it.

What facts support its a down year in the SEC? Other than your opinion?

Les Miles has showcased talent as well since he mas more former player on NFL roster than any other school. Henry is a great RB but hes not on the same level as fournette.

But the problem is y'all say this every year Bama is making a run. I'm nearly certain you think 2003 and 2007 were the last years the SEC was solid. Possibly not 2003.
