Considering the long-term success of the program - especially considering when it started - it should not be surprising. Crimson Tide football gave the people of Alabama, and even others in the South, something to hang their hat on - not exactly something in great supply in Dixie just six decades removed from the war.

Which team would an uneducated Alabamian pull for?
A) the team that consistently wins and plays for championships
B) the team that gets their arse beat all the time
The reason Auburn only has alumni as fans is because no one else will pull for a loser. Why are you guys proud of that?
