FTR, I noted this at the beginning of the year. Also, AU is definitely immune. Since we play at the end of the season, the only way to judge it is performance in the SECCG as applicable. Considering we have blown out our opponent in the SECCG the past 3 times and came within a few seconds of beating Peyton Manning and Tennessee as about a 20 point underdog in the 4th appearance, I would say AU pretty much chuckles at the bama effect and plays better immediately after playing bama.

I will be sure to let the author know that he is wrong, Mike Dubose's 1998 team had no such effect on teams.

Not sure how you figure, as the stats are listed specifically for this year - and the years we had our most punishing defenses, you were not even sniffing the SECCG.
