Isn't Dak a mobile, dual threat QB? He can buy time with his legs. Ratcheting up tempo seems to take a lot of "want to" out of a defenses pass rush no matter who they are. I haven't watched any State games this year so I don't know what kind of personnel they really have. They've given up 13 sacks through 9 games. That's pretty decent.
MSU has been decent thusfar this season.......They beat SoMiss/Northwestern State/Auburn/Troy/LaTech/Kentucky/Missouri. They've faced some powerful defenses in those wins fo sho.

I understand maybe thinking MSU can win, but do you honestly think MSU will win by 16 points? When was the last time a Saban lead Bama team lost by that much? I don't think he ever has. I think the most is 14 points?

That's cool. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Bama's largest margin of defeat since 2004 has been 14 (3 times in Saban era). You think this MSU team is going to give this Bama team a loss by the largest margin in 11+ years? Based on what?

I do too, but they won't be doing all of it out of 5-WR sets. I can pretty much guarantee you that. Mullen is way too smart to do that.

No, but that's because he uses a RB and TEs. All of which are capable receivers.

Trust me, I'd love for Mullen to stick Dak back there and run 45 drop back passes from the shotgun. Would take all of the other options and window dressing away for our DB's and LB's and let them focus on one thing. Would be perfect.

LMAO! NO.. no you don't wish that. It would throw your defense off.

Uhhu, which is what I have been saying this entire thread and you have been arguing with. WTF are you talking about? You realize that RBs and TEs don't count as receivers when you say "5 WRs", right?

A QB taking a straight snap, dropping back with no PA or RB threat and throwing will probably not "throw our defense off". Just a hunch.

I'm 90 percent sure we focused our whole offseason on gameplanning to beat Bama. Then when we did it and soared up to No. 3 in the polls and No. 1 in the FPI, we decided to just say frick it and roll the rest of the way to the Gator Bowl. I'm glad you recognize that the team that lost to Arkansas and Memphis is not the one that hung 70 the first two weeks then beat Bama, and vice versa.

Have an up vote for giving a reason that makes a lot more sense than the nonsense set out by the OP.

Well of course not that would make Bama look bad and that is Bammer Message Board rule #1 - ALWAYS MAKE THE TAHD LOOK GOOD.

But seriously, as a lot of people who write serious articles about football have said, Ole Miss' defense hasn't been the same since the Alabama game because of injuries. You guys just aren't very deep.

Sorry,, but unlike the previous two years, bama is loaded with depth on the defensive front.. Going fast may work against msu.

This year Dak is better.

This year, they have deeper and BETTER receivers.

This year, the one thing the OL excels at.. Pass protection.

This year's Mississippi State team has faced three FBS teams with winning records.

They've lost to two of those teams.

The two teams that beat Mississippi State lost to Bama by 14 and 18 points.

Bama has faced SEVEN teams with winning records and beaten six.

But State will beat Bama by 16.

Never, ever change dealers. He is getting you the absolute best stuff on the market.

So they gave up 200 yards rushing to Missouri because they were focusing on their NCAA worst passing attack? Or they were just playing possum?

That's funny. 72 yard run from mizzou's "reserve" and you point to the rushing yards. Mizzou reserve runs for 72 yards

Maybe look at who all was in the game etc etc...maybe?

Witter got carries in the first quarter. Hunt was running in the 4th with 6 minutes left. So unless Mizzou waved the white flag on the 3rd possession then no, that has zero to do with it.

State still had Dak in the game on the last possession. They never pulled any starters.
