I really have no idea who I want to see at QB at this point? A part of me is kinda, what difference does it really make at this point? I just want to win out by any and all means necessary

That being said, I would like to check the pulse of Auburn fans today

Up vote for Jeremy Johnson and Down vote for Sean White

Key notes for this kind of question:

JJ is 3-1 as a starter. He's thrown for 6 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He is averaging around 150 yards per game as a starter. His QB rating is ~129. The offense is averaging 358 yards per game when JJ starts.

White is 2-3 as a starter. He's thrown for 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. He is averaging around 212 yards per game as a starter. His QB rating is ~130. The offense is averaging 396 yards per game when White is a starter.

I still think White is the better QB when healthy. He played good enough to win against Arkansas but got shitty help. I was extremely happy for JJ that he got that W but a lot of that had to do with the outstanding play by Jovon & the defense more than anything he brought.

If JJ brought any kind of threat on the ground then I would probably say go with him but if both are being asked to sit in pocket & manage the game I think White with better accuracy & touch is the better choice. I wouldn't be shocked tho if JJ started this week as White still seems uncomfortable on that knee.

If our defense plays like that then won't matter who is at QB

Sean White and its not even close. Id be curious what SW's completion rate would be without that crazy game full of drops.

Good point about the drops

Another factor is which Gus Malzahn shows up? If it's the guy who called plays against State and Ole Missed we're fricked regardless but if it's A&M Malzahn I think we can win no matter who starts at QB

Weren't there 9 drops in the game?

If so, 66%.

You can't just factor drops. JJ has had a couple each game including two drive killers Saturday.

Looking at the numbers they suggest JJ. He has likely played as poorly has he is capable of playing and still has similar if not better numbers.

I don't think it matters much. Neither excites me. I guess I keep hoping JJ lives up to his obvious physical talent.

This isn't even really a question.

White is clearly the better QB

Sean White against Ole Miss couldn't even step into a throw. Unless they sprinkle some magic fairy dust the past week while healing, White isn't going to be himself

I probably should have put a disclaimer in the OP of, *Healthy Sean White vs JJ

That shouldn't even be a debate.

If we're talking 70% healthy White versus JJ, I still take White.

I think we saw all kinds of plays run that we had not seen this season, mostly running. JJ, as a junior, should and must know the playbook by now and I imagine CGM and CRL trust him to know it. With Sean, not so much. It is not his fault nor anyone else's. Honestly, I liked what I saw from JJ - no turnovers, no really bad decisions, yes, we would like him to keep it, duck it and run occasionally, but his play, his energy and leadership was solid. He was pumped to be out there again. Going forward? I have no clue, but I think rather than a who can derp it up the best fest, we might actually have a real QB battle the rest of this year, and next if need be, with the rest of the team behind whomever, with both being able to lead, produce and win. I understand the JJ angst, but anyone who can find serious fault with his play against UTAM, after EVERYTHING, maybe should take a time out and step back.
PS - I think AU pummels UGA.

I downvoted but only on the assumption that we're talking healthy sean white. Walking boot sean white? No, I'd rather have JJ now and get White back to 100%.

For so long I've wanted the kind of quality QB stability that UGA seems to get. I think White can do that for us.

White is injured and JJ starts against and plays well against Georgia and Idaho.

We beat Georgia and Idaho.

White is 100% for Alabama. Who starts?

White starts. Especially if "playing well" is defined as what JJ did against A&M

In that scenario JJ would start
