Ahhh Taurus my new friend....I knew this thread would grab your attention with your girls school affection. I do kinda agree that the girls in Tallyban are pretty impressive...but you need to stay out of the mens sewing club room when you visit Gainesville and look around at the talent we have. Maybe just maybe we are about equal?
As far as prestige, numbers of fans and $$$ there is NO comparison to the two schools...you know it, I know it and they know it. Im old enough to remember the girls school as an independent school and some years in 1960s your schedule was something like: Wofford, Citadel, Catawba, Chattanooga, Southern Miss (I remember the 1989 game in Jax when you had a pathetic 40,000 fans show up, they must have known that Brett Favre was gonna stomp that azz) and teams like VPI (which is what Va Tech was called back then), Wake Forest, Univ of Tampa (gave up football) and few big boys would schedule you for homecoming fodder. How proud you must be that you played on a cow pasture.
Easier to play for playoff? Thats the spirit Taurus...why play in the best conference in the country and rake in $$$$ and media attention when you can sleaze your way? Guess who beats everyone hands down in the state for school license plates?
BTW I posted something for you on the McElwain COY thread....cheers.

FSU
Easier road to playoffs and will get voted in off of name recognition.

I'd much rather be a fan of uf
I couldn't watch acc football week after week frickin 8 weeks in before they get to play anybody worth a shite
And acc championship opponent when they make it? Usually unranked
They really need to get Clemson and Fsu in separate divisions

I am personally partial to UF because of the money and resources although I can see some advantages to FSU. History seems to be a wash

UF was irrelevant until the 90s.
UF's first Heisman winner, Steve Spurrier, 1966
FSU's first Heisman winner, Charlie Ward, 1993
That said, I think FSU is the better position because you can get away with murder there.

the question is open to interpretation.
all you said was "better"... you didn't give any criteria. Better for what.
Keeping your job, easy to win at, better academically, better quality of life, better conference...all u said was better.
Hell u didn't even say better for what sport.
Therefore you have Gator fans explaining why UF is far superior in certain categories. FSU fans say, it's easy to win in the ACC, we can compete for a NC every year if we beat Pitt and Boston College.
Better is different to every person you ask. There are some idiots who will argue that Little Caesars Pizza is "better" than an authentic pizza made by an Italian Pizzamaker who spent a lot of time kneading the dough.
Which one of those persons is correct? One is judging "better" based on delivery time, cheapness, etc.
The other is judging based on taste, quality, etc.
If you want to keep your job and play noon games versus Basketball schools that guarantee you'll never win less than 9 games a year.
If you wanna play quality competition week in and week out, and not have to worry about whether or not you're good enough to win against any other conference (see The SEC BCS Streak, and FSU vs Oregon last year), you may see clearly that UF is the better job.
EVERY School in the SEC is a football school! AND if they're not...they're trying to be. See this schools for example (UK).
There's no reason UNC should not be able to win 9 games every year in the ACC. But in that conference it's ok to be a basketball school only.

UF's Athletic Department has more money.
But, the better job is who can recruit the better players, and FSU is doing that better than UF.
All money being equal, I'd take FSU.

I dunno. The SEC East has been pretty benign lately. All you have to do is play LSU and one more SEC W team, oK well maybe it is harder. But, FL plays FSU so.... It's all the same in the end schedule wise.
