It's called an ellipsis...and it's just another way of denoting pause in sentence structure.

Yes, I'm aware of what the correct name is, it's just often used .. up to ....... on here with no rhyme or reason therefore it's not really being used correctly 99% of the time so I'll keep calling it misplaced dots.

Let's abolish our history because it offends!
Let's get rid of history all together and take future 101 instead.
We are the youth of this country, let's make sure no one's feelings get hurt.

How are they abolishing history? They just voted to remove an official school symbol that represents some of the ugliest parts of American history.

I love when people feel the need to explain that it wasn't the original flag. Like they're enlightening people or something. Every Mississippian that went elementary school knows what the original flag was. You're not a genius. And it may be the original but it's not the official flag. And it ain't the confederate flag. That flag is offensive. Don't give me the crap about it's not. If you watch any old civil rights era film where civil rights activists were killed or blacks were killed, the white supremacists flew the confederate flag in all the media scenes. It is related to oppression of blacks. Period. The state flag is not. It's a totally different flag.

Good for the students. The flag isn't the original state flag. It was adopted in 1924. It was changed then and can be changed again.
Not good for the students. I don't care about the flag but this is bullshite. Disagree with it, sure. Hell, protest if you want. But you have absolutely no right to take down the state flag. I don't give a shite if it has a swastika on it, as long as you're receiving state funding, you fly it.
This goes past protesting a flag, it's something that's completely disrespectful to the state the school represents. In this case it isn't about what's on the flag, it's the fact that it IS THE STATE FLAG.

Well Mississippi is still stuck in the 1950s, maybe this will bring them to around the 1980s. They still have a lot of catching up to do.

Kids!
Ole Miss is a state university, funded by the state and the taxpayers of the state. Unless the Mississippi flag is changed by the voters of the state, the state universities of Mississippi have no choice but the fly the state flag, like it or not.
This is a typical liberal approach to most major issues, ignore the laws or policies that you do not agree with instead of following the process necessary to change them.

Hopefully the state legislature halts funding and the SEC revokes their charter on the grounds of being irrelevant pussies.
State funding at Ole Miss is down to about 12%. If 42 passes in Mississippi next month, Ole Miss and State might as well be private institutions as far as state funding goes.

I don't give a sh!t about the confederate flag. If it pisses off a good bit of the population, remove it for the greater good.
I'm just really glad I wasn't born an OM fan. When they have to change your mascot, etc. They will probably end up changing the 'Ole Miss' too. I remember back in the day they handed the student section (or the entire stadium) little confederate flags...
The Jefferson Pilot sports days. I'm 27 for reference, so not that old. But I remember those days.

I actually agree with your overall point but the people running this country have the mentality of those idiot 20 year olds.
