it wasn't a fumble. it was a lateral. where do you people come from?

The second a lateral touches the ground it is officially and technically a fumble. So therefore per the way the rules are written it shouldn't not be able to be advanced.

Where do you come from?

technically you are incorrect.

quote:

ARTICLE 3. A live ball becomes dead and an official shall sound his whistle or declare it dead:
[...]
b. When any part of the ball carrier’s body, except his hand or foot, touches the ground or when the ball carrier is tackled or otherwise falls and loses possession of the ball as he contacts the ground with any part of his body, except his hand or foot [Exception: The ball remains alive when an offensive player has simulated a kick or at the snap is in position to kick the ball held for a place kick by a teammate. The ball may be kicked, passed or advanced by rule]

take a few minutes and try to digest that.

1. Snap to holder
2. Holder fakes fg simultaneously with kicker.
3. Holder tosses lateral to kicker.
4. Kicker scores td from lateral toss.

Where are you seeing a fumble in this process? Also, if it was a mystery fumble, it can still be tossed laterally to a runner as a fumbled snap.

One more time, idiot. You can't advance a ball that has been fumbled PAST THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE.

Now, go away.

ETA: I didn't mean LOS, I meant past the point it was fumbled. You can fumble a ball on 4th down and the play isn't blown dead when it hits the ground.
